So i have a old bushnell banner 6-24 x 40mm AO - which IMHO is totally overkill for Umarex Notos .22 - should i get something else a bit smaller (as the scope at about ~16-17" is about 5 inches longer than barrel LOL)

Yes, there are quite a few that would work better. Up front, I do not think you need more than 12 power. I use 7 power most of the time. I like the little Bugbuster scopes, something in that vein and size; keep the kit outfit pleasant and proportional. You can also look at some of the 32mm bell scopes.

well I figured if you have it try it,no cost to try.. you can always change it because as far as I know scopes are not permanent to just one rifle.. actually have have 2 Condors and one scope and it's almost exactly zero swapping between the two rifles.. yes it is probably too big but maybe it will help the notos grow up and play with the big boys..
notos is a good gun, I have one that I cut down and put a moderator in the shroud to use as a pistol but it is still long.. anything over 12" is too much for me for a pistol.. factory with the factory grips and open sights it was 22".. now it's 16" and better..

I put this Discovery Optics HD 2-12x24 FFP scope on my Notos, focuses down to 5yds, 165 bucks to your door from DiscoveryOpt.us. Very nice lil scope, good glass.

Like the size of the discovery - do they have anything with a bigger objective that could work with night optics - want something scalable and a pest rifle that works at night / low light situations would be awesome just dont want to spend a fortune... esp considering notos only has an 11" barrel

Seeing you already have and your having to buy again I'd say its perfect. At 6x should handle the need at that

yeah id hate to put more money in a pest control rifle but with the huge banner scope it looks a bit ridiculous... And if im going to spend more $ was hoping to be able to have day / night scope like the NV100 Plus (3-12X56). what are some of the budget friendly scope that you all use.. something with side focus.... a NV setup would be nice but even with new tech and costs coming down think they'd be out of budget
