Sold an FX gun-Is the buyer being petty?

As most of us who have owned a number of FX guns know, FX has a "rolling upgrade" program. Sometimes they used long cases, sometimes short cases, sometimes plain foam, sometimes cutouts. I sold a gun and the buyer asked (after receiving it) if I had the clear plastic covers for the case. I have owned cases that had a clear cover by the handle for like a name tag or something, I assume this one did not. He also asked if I had a muzzle protector for the second 700mm barrel which was not on the gun (it was a Continuum). FX does not always include a muzzle protector (see post #5):

the buyer got one, but believes he should have gotten two. I offered to send him $25 so he could purchase a second one. Is the buyer being petty or is it my imagination?

He bought a USED gun. Just because some things may or may not have come with it when new doesn't mean he gets it used. Thats a good reason to include in the ad EVERYTHING that comes with the gun. It you replaced the grip, or added a Huma, it doesn't mean that the original parts come with the sale unless you specify that in your ad, or he requests it BEFORE he buys it...

He should have asked ALL questions prior to agreeing to purchase. I always state things like “ NO original boxes, everything in the pictures included, nothing more, nothing less.
Nowadays everything I sell is FTF, yeah I’m shorting myself a lot of opportunities. But it’s worth not having headaches or a negative rating.

I've even bought new and could say the same thing. I got a brand new FX Dream Tact Compact .177 two weeks ago. The magazine I got with the gun holds 22 rounds. FX has since changed the magazine to 21 rounds. Obviously, the gun I received was made when they were still providing the 22 round. The magazine works fine, so I have no complaint. It is what it is. It's just starting to feel like this guy bought the gun and after the fact wants to nickle and dime me to death to get the price lower over things he feels he should have gotten. I appreciate the input; was wondering if I am being too thin skinned.

If the sale is done and he was happy with it, after he got the package..... and now he is asking for other things? I would tell him to pound sand.

Fx doesn't always have those covers on the case.
Fx doesn't always put thread protectors on their rifles
Fx changes things from rifle run to rifle run. You have to understand this when you buy them.

Bottom line, does the rifle work? If so then the buyer needs to quit harassing you and move on.
You sound like you are being WAY nicer than I would be. NOW if it was something that was needed for the rifle that I forgot to include, which happens, I will offer to send at my cost and apologize. But trying to scrutinize like he is now after the fact...... nope sorry.

Take detailed pictures of everything, and list EVERYTHING that will be included. If people want something outside of that, then things cost extra

Have him ship it back to you on his dime then refund his purchase and dont deal with him ever again. Iv had the same issue before and it made me keep everything I've bought. Dont want to deal with people who have the amazon or walmart complex. Since coming to this forum ive made some great sales and people are happy because the item is exactly what I said it would be nothing extra but everything i said it would be. I buy most guns used. I am thrilled when i receive what's agreed on or even extras. This is a bad buyer issue. Get the gun back and resell it. People change their attitudes when you lay it out like that.

I had a bad feeling about this transaction when the day after it shipped HINT-(that's how the request for a phone conversation can be abused. Now they have your phone number and can text you whenever), and he asked if I had the "Owners Manual" for the gun. Has anyone EVER gotten an owners manual for an FX gun? I told him the FX booklet that came with the gun was in the case-you know the generic booklet that tells you nothing about that specific gun., and it was.

Yes, way petty. My Crown Continuum came with exactly none from FX. I felt like they could have tossed those in, but I accepted that and didn’t complain. I have since purchased one, but only because I’m kinda anal in a couple categories.
If he continues, block his number or you’ll be buying him a scope.

Sounds like he was asking about things he expected to be there, which seems pretty reasonable. I understand fx makes small changes here and there. My continumm came with two thread protectors, one for each barrel. Seems normal? Also came with a short case with slot for a label or tag and plastic cover. If that's even what he's talking about? Either way, I see no issue in ASKING. People forget things. I forget things.

That is what he's talking about. I do not forget things often, but I cannot sell what I did not receive, and did say I bought the gun used and from whom. I never even thought to look there. I currently have 5 FX guns. The only case that has it is the short case for my M3 Impact. This gun came with the older long case with the convoluted foam, not the short case with the cutouts and a cutout for the second barrel, and was in the pictures in the ad.

I've had a couple people expect things that they figured would be in the purchase even though I stated what came with the item. You get nothing extra out of me and I don't give a rats ass if it means I get a negative feedback. I will out you then to the community and they can decide who did what.

Another thing that pisses me off is when I tell someone I work 10-12 hours a day and it'll take me a couple days to get a rifle boxed and shipped. They say okay and then the next day you message me asking if it shipped or whats the tracking. I can't possibly have it boxed up and know the dimensions to get the shipping right? People have no patience these days.

Tired of these people needing to be handled with kid gloves. Soon I'm going to stop posting in the classifieds.
