(SOLVED) FX Crown Regulator Noise

Hi everyone, 

Have a Crown which shoots lights out at a 100 yards. It’s tuned very well for high power. 1 inch groups. No regulator creep or leaks. 

Ive noticed now that every time I take a shot now, there is a noise of the regulator refilling for the next shot. It happens consistently after I take a shot. The sound is like a hissssing noise filling the reg up. Stops happening when the tank air is low or the tank is approaching the reg pressure. The sound is also lesser when the hammer spring tension is on minimum. But at maxed levels the sound is slightly louder. 

Am facing no problems at all in accuracy or leaks or anything like that. Just wondering if the noise is normal. ??? 

I remember similair stuff happening to my other guns which were tuned for high power as well but wanted to check if any of you guys who have tuned for high power are facing this?

Problem solved. It wasn’t a problem at all. Wrote to the master tuner Earnest. He was kind enough to respond quickly. He said that at high power it is normal to hear the sound of the plenum refilling. Nothings wrong with ma crown. 
 
you know yourself it not normal, that would mean all Crowns would do that. 

The fact that it is bugging you all that matters. Probably something in on its way out

That sound is a bit irritating. I intend to keep using it till it cause any problems. Am just wondering if this happened because I’ve maxed out my hammer spring and shooting at high power which is above the factory setting. From the factory it never made this noise. It’s making it now after I turned it up. While accuracy has improved significantly this noise is kinda pissing me off.

I'll take a stab in the dark and agree with Hubertus and add that at a certain pressure and airspeed the frequency of the vibrations will resonate like a shower pipe or whistle. That's why it only does it at one or two settings. That is also why some people experience it and others with the same gun don't. Sometimes when I fill my guns from a tank, I get a whistle as I'm choking the airspeed with the valve. If the speed is just over or under, it's silent.

I get the whistle part. My guns do that sometimes too. This noise is as if a certain amount of air is being released into a compartment. Whoosh. 😁

Here is a link to a Mr. Rowe post on you tube about resealing the reg. Had I seen this before sending mine back I could have fixed it. The issue is getting the piston back in nice and straight or you will cave in the side of it. Not hard at all just be careful .There are 5 other VERY helpful videos he has made on the crown. Hope this helps.

Milacik, You will get all the answers you seek regarding why you are turning red by clicking on your profile and clicking again on the accuracy box to see the specific reasons for that and what other members have to say about you and your posts. Good news is that like minded individuals gave you positive votes (I think?)... otherwise you would be all in the red.
