SOLVED UPDATE Altaros regulator problem. Help.

Ok fellow members here's the deal. Got an Altaros reg for a Condor. After putting the regulator and AF valve on a 500cc c.f. bottle I can't fill. Air is not flowing through the filling pin , it leaks around the pin and comes out of the foster fitting. The dealer I bought from wanted to know if I read the instructions, did I have o-rings ? Is the fill pin o-ring damaged? He didn't listen to my explanation that it wasn't leaking from the reg, it (air), isn't going in. Altaros responded by asking if I know what a female foster fitting is. I had already told both the dealer and Altaros I have 3 female foster fittings which work on other fill pins. I'm going to try a different fill pin on the Altaros reg, but not optimistic about the results. Dealer said he would order one and send it after he received it. I asked him if he could send me one he had and order one to replace it for his inventory. He wasn't happy about that, but said yes.both the dealer and Altaros pretty much said I don't know what I'm doing. That's pretty much true in that I am at a loss as to troubleshooting the issue. It's not about fault, which seems to be the dealers and Altaros' response, it's about resolving the issue. So, anyone else gone through this?

UPDATE. UPDATE. UPDATE.

ALTAROS is sending me a new filling pin AND a female foster fitting that has been tested for function. Nice response. I am optimistic. mtf.

I put in a new filling pin and it works great. Problem solved.

Thanks John, but there's no check valve. The valve stem screws into the fill pin and has an o-ring that fits on the seat of the valve stem. See pics.

John. Also if pin seated in the female foster fitting and the pin valve was stuck shut, the air would dead-head, not leak. ( I think). I compared the pin to one that works and there is a slight difference in spacing of the grove for the bearing detente on the female foster fitting. The baffling thing is I'm the only one with the problem.
