Some Alpha Wolf thoughts on tripod "springiness"

I have my Alpha Wolf mounted on a tripod using a pic to Arca adapter. What I find is that when I am aiming it seems to bounce around a little bit. My thought is that the wood stock has a little bit of give on the part extending out under the tank creating a bit of springiness.

What I am thinking is to remove the stock, install a grip and a K&L Extended Trigger Guard with the ARCA rail.

Does anyone have this setup with the Delta or Alpha Wolf? Is it really steady or does the K&L rail have some give to it as well?

Regarding the grip - is it a standard AR grip? Regular top or flat top grip?

I think a tripod will always bow to a rested gun with a rear bag as far as stability goes.
Big pro is you can use a tripod standing and pan around quickly. If im shooting for serious groups I'd rather a bag and rear bag or bipod and rear bag.

I don't have a delta but have the K&L arca for the impact and its very solid, no flex. I assume they're the same thickness.

Too put some of the tripod blame to rest, my setup is pretty solid. RRS 50mm ball head on a 40mm compact tripod. It’s rock solid with several airguns so while not as steady as a bipod and rear bag, the Alpha exhibits more bounce than other examples I have.

Note I am shooting this in .177 as well so it’s not the shot cycle causing the bounce. Just trying to hold steady it’ll move around.

I have the PRS extended rail for my DW and as it came, has a lot of flex or bounce. I put a leather pad between it and the bottle to damp that and seems to work ok. The K&L has a more rigid design but I've not personally used one.

Not a bad idea, but only takes into consideration flex towards the bottle, not pulling away from it.

This same tripod I was using up to last year with my Impact for shooting BR.
Then last winter (Canadian winters ya know can last 5-6 months) for the Impact I made a one-pice-rest, and using the tripod with Leshiy2 same shooting BR.

I also made some other attachments for varius scenarios.

The most important is to make the tripod heavy ;)

ctshooter - I have had my Delta Wolf for about 3 weeks and am still trying to figure out the tuning. The first accessory I added was a K&L Extended Trigger Guard. I'm using the picatinny insert and bipod rather than my tripod on the ARCA rail because this configuration is more stable for me from the bench. Had a mono grip laying around that I use on the rear picatinny rail. Love this configuration on the bench. The K&L Extended Trigger Guard is very ridged. The grip is an Ergo AR grip. That said, the Alpha Wolf stock is so good looking I would be hesitant to go with the Delta Wolf configuration.
