Brocock/BRK Some BRK Sniper XR scope / cheek riser questions

If anyone is able to help I'd appreciate it. I recently got a Sniper XR and having a few small issues I am hoping to correct.

1 - I am using low scope rings, but the cheek riser barely goes to a level where I can still snug the set screws. Does anyone make/sell longer riser posts?

2 - I've mounted my scope with low rings and I nearly maxed out on the elevation. If I use my Eagle Vision adjustable rings then the scope is way to high for even an extended riser. I can't use just dovetail adjustable rings as the front ring needs to mount forward over the barrel. Does anyone make an adjustable height 'low' ring?

You can always take the picatinny rail off, that would lower your scope. It's weird giving you advice because I know you are a Pro, I have seen your videos. And why in the world would you be having elevation issues if the scope is mounted level?

No worries - all advice is appreciated. I wouldn't ask if I wasn't sure on this platform. The problem, as you can see in pic, is with the Sniper it's a bit of a hybrid between a standard rifle and a bullpup. If I remove the pic rails - which was one of the thoughts - then I have nowhere to mount the front ring.

The rings are pretty low as is - forgot to mention this is a 34mm scope so rings are more limited. I think the ideal solution would be replacing the BRK dovetail to pic rail with one having 20 moa.

Yeah, I tried low mounts on mine at first but I had to remove the rear rail. These medium mounts for 30mm sit lower than your low mounts. That new sub moa barrel on yours might have something to do with the elevation issue.

I am aiming to be at the range with it tomorrow so we’ll see how it does at 50 and 100 and go from there. If I need more adjustment I’ll revisit.

Yes - SubMOA barrel - it’s gonna be a crisp 33 tomorrow with snow on the way in CT but I’ll be bundling up to try it out at the range.

Actually - yes. I'm thinking it's time to pull out the mini lathe and put it to use. See if I have any Al bar stock laying around.

@ctshooter I’ve asked this question in the past. I have @grackleblast ’s post bookmarked as the best solution I’ve seen to this question. If you come up with a more refined modification, I am very interested.

I use low rings, raise the cheek rest up all the way and do ok there. Extended post risers or an aftermarket cheek rest and mounting screws would be great.

I believe I have founds solutions to both problems:

1. Cheek Riser Height
2. Not enough elevation on scope.

For this post I am focusing on the cheek riser. After some of the links from above posts it got my brain spinning and the electrical engineer in me remembered the standoffs that we used to use to separate circuit board layers.

I measured the plastic posts on the cheek riser and they measured 3/16" ID and 3/8" OD. Come on - too easy. A little time on Amazon and I have an order for these. It's like they were made for the BRK - the 10-32 threads are a perfect 3/16" and if you take your time cut a nice set of clean threads in the riser.

Note: These are specifically the Al ones as the steel would've been much harder to turn.

I took the standoffs and mounted them in the mini lathe. Took the OD down to approx 0.375" (3/8"). Took the length to approx 0.875" (7/8"). Not bad for a non-mechanically inclined person.

Installed on the cheek riser and rifle.

I love my Sniper XR, but always thought that the cheek riser was useless as it is too short. I don't think that the engineers thought this one out, or didn't try it out first lol.

All the parts came in to complete the scope elevation fix. It's not a huge difference at ~6 Mil but it gets me that much further away from the max scope elevation settings. I now have a good 10-11 Mil of elevation with a 50 yard zero, whereas I had about 4 or so Mil before.
