Some Common Questions...

Here are a few common questions with the REAL question or motive translated... to anyone who has asked any of these and feel the need to get your panties in a bunch, don't. This is all in fun.
If any of you have any other common questions with the real translations, please feel free.

What do you all think about the new Sooper Dooper Springer that will do 1000fps? I want to use it for everything from chipmunks to coyotes. It's on sale now at XMart for $129.

I've seen Joe Blow on YouTube kill a hog with a spring piston gun in .177 and now I think I can do the same. All of you who spend big money on PCP's are just dumb when the same thing can be done with a big box springer. Besides... they shoot just as hard as a .22 rimfire. I mean 1000fps! I will likely never get close enough to a coyote anyway and instead will take an ill advised shot at 65 yards and might get close enough to scare it. Never mind the fact that shooting a springer...ANY springer requires a level of finesse. I'm a manly man and I can hold it so tight that there is no way it will move and I'll be able to shoot it just fine. If I need more precision on it, I'll just add my old rimfire scope and mounts to it.

I'm new to airguns and have been looking at the [insert whatever high end PCP here]. What do you all think?

This one is tricky.. there are typically one of two translations here.

1. I have more money than I know what to do with and now have a new hobby. I can buy the best gun, scope and all available accessories and Ill be able to brag to my buddies at the country club. I don't really care what 'you all think', I just want to show everyone that I'm buying the best of the best right out the gate. When I tire of looking at it, it will sit for a few years with all the rest of the toys that caught my eye at one point or another.

2. I've learned my lesson on buying cheap stuff and have budgeted for something that I believe will fit my purpose. I've taken into account all accessories. I've researched all that I know to research and I'm relying on the wisdom of the group here to ensure I haven't missed anything.

Why do I need to make 10 posts to sell my airgun?

I got a bug in my arse and went to Walmart and got a 1200fps brake barrel because I thought I would be able to kill things at 100 yards with it. I soon tired of it and I don't really want to consort with any of you undesirables on this forum, I just want to unload this gun and recover 112% of what I paid for it and 212% of it's actual value.

HW97 or TX200?

I full well know that this get a lot of chatter and I want to rile folks up. There will be about a 50/50 split and it will be fun to watch folks go at it. There's nothing good on TV tonight anyway.

What airgun would you choose for a SHTF situation?

I watch too much anime and when I was a child (ok, ok... and even as an adult) I read the books that had the 'if you want to do this, turn to page 23, if you do that, turn to page 45'. I secretly know the answer because Bear Grylls calls me for expertise on all things survival. I once even killed a spider in my living room. I don't really care about the answers that people give, I just want someone...anyone... to suggest the gun that I would select so I can tag on and virtual high five and chest bump with them.
ok , just woke up and having my first cup ! wonderful read , Thank You .

"I've decided to get rid of my PCP's and pumpers, they are just too accurate and simple to shoot. I need the challenge the HotdogWater-970 brings to the table with a massive coil spring loosely fit into metal tube with four of moms curlers stuffed inside to reduce BOING! in my ears.

The abject ecstacy that flows over me, like warm butter that dripping off my morning toast on to my suit pants, when I pull rearward on the trigger blade, causing a subtle shift in the 16 pounds of mass, precariously perched on my open palm, which I coated with baby seal tallow so that my skin would not impart any roughness to the exact center of gravity, freeing the massive piston to jump free of its capture and leap forward as if it were a Jaguar with several kitchens worth of pots and pans tied to its tail forward, jarring the four closest molars to loosen slightly in thier sockets and pitch my eye-ball slightly inward for the next several moments as the pellet I purchased 47 years ago from a long defunct manufacturer is pushed at the speed of syrup exiting a bottle slowly runs the length of the barrel as the cacophony of piston crash ripples throughout my very being!

I watch as the pellet almost hits the target paper at 10 meters, this time.

What a joy!"

Oh! Got me!🥴
I'm this guy😅

No shame here🤷‍♂️🤣🤪🤙
I'm sort of in the #1 category, and Gods grace got me there, but having a wee bit os Scottish and German blood in me I tent to hold onto those wee pennies and demand technical genius.....now, why in the H I bought Mavericks.....Kidding, I love them.

am so new i just wanna be profienct w/in 50 yds and know how to maintain my Avenger Bullpup 25.
Understood. This thread was mainly to poke fun at those who ask the same questions over and over and over and over. Both new folks and those more seasoned. Wasnt a dig at someone looking for specific answers to specific questions. As to the Avenger, there are plenty of topics on it and so you should be able to get all the info you need to have fun and maintain your gun.
Here is an example of a quick search I did using the keyword 'Avenger'

I personally like ridiculous Youtube comments more. They're just significantly more over the top than anything you'll read here. I've been watching a lot of BB gun videos lately and one of the common comments goes something like, "these new Red Ryders are nothing like the ones we used to have. When I was a kid I must have killed thousands of rabbits and crows with mine and any can within 50 yards of me soon had a hole clean through it."

That's a fact... YouTube comments are like comedic gold. I dont have Facebook, Twitter or other social media platforms, but from what I gather, those are as good or better (or sadder, depending on how you look at it).

It is humorous, but we have all been that to some degree. It is good to have a place like this where one can gain knowledge. The rub comes with those that just pop in and ask questions that can easily answered with a search and a few minutes reading.

Try not to run them all off, high traffic is what makes it work. Without traffic, no advertising $$$, and the forum dies in the long term.

The ones that need to be run off, like the one that shot his neighbors cat, get ousted immediately.
Nothing wrong with shooting the neighbors cat as long as you eat it …. I have some great feline stew recipes… humor intended but not so humorous is reading about someone who picks up his airgun to kill something, anything pest or not if it has fur or feathers they think it’s fun🫤
