Hello,
I've seen multiple people post about this. Everyone's made very good points about this it probably depends on the airline and what person you're dealing with at the TSA.
I live in Massachusetts but I plan on flying down to Florida during the winter to so some iguana hunting I am trying to figure out how I will fill my huben (once I buy one)
I think I have some possible solutions feel free to add some.
Someone said in a previous post that the airlines not only want to make sure your tank is empty but they want you to take the valve off to make sure it's empty. How easy is this to do with a tank? For instance if you bought a guppy from Joe Bracanto does the valve come off?
Or if we could get a solid answer from TSA or the airlines another option would be to take the scuba tank on the plane with you and then just fill it wherever you get to. (provided they do not make you take the valve off.
I am thinking another option is to buy a small tank for instance one of the small tanks the guppy from Joe B and then just mail that to where you plan to go.
Another option is I think someone said the huben can get 150 shots per fill well let's say even if it's a hundred shots you could just go to a gun store throw the guy $$ to have him fill your air gun and that should be enough shots for the day
the last and final option that would be a total nightmare is having a hand pump. Does anybody know how long it would take to hand pump a huben. This of course would be the last option and not something I would plan to do regularly. But I'm assuming the airlines wouldn't give you a hard time about bringing a hand pump on the plane?
Anything I am missing any solutions would be appreciated.
