Something wrong with my new RAW HM1000X LRT?

As mentioned in another thread I recently purchased a RAW HM1000X LRT from member Marksman3006. First off I have to say this is a beautiful looking rifle with a laminated stock. The green in the lamination even matches my Crocs. But I have to admit that I'm a little perplexed by how the rifle performed while shooting it for the first time. After installing the only scope that I had (Hawke Airmax 8-32x?) on the rings provided with the rifle I placed a few shots onto a target at about 40 yards. A few turns of the scope knobs and the contents of a full magazine brought the POI close to where I was aiming. A second full magazine yielded the results shown below. I think something is wrong because I know next to nothing about airguns and wasn't expecting this result. Either most of the pellets didn't exit the rifle or they all went in the same hole. Well almost the same hole.

Beeser,
You came to the right place to voice your concerns. Something does appear amiss with your results. It is safe to say the only reasonable thing to do would be to box it up and ship it to your nearest "De-Accurizing" center. Just be sure to specify a level of modification. Common choices are "magnum springer" and "Daisy Red Rider". Should you choose the "Red Rider" option, technicians will fire sand and nails through the bore until the desired accuracy is obtained. Should this fail to have the expected result, they will (for no extra charge) perform the barrel pry-bar challenge until the results meet your satisfaction. I am so very sorry you miss out on the wonder and surprise where each round will strike, this is part of the mystery and romance of air rifle shooting. Better luck next time.

Best regards,
Addertooth

Addertooth - Good suggestions but I'm sure my shooting skills will be the first source of "de-accurizing" the rifle.

A day after shooting the RAW for the first time I still can't believe the results shown above. The action while cocking the rifle felt very solid and gave the impression of quality craftsmanship. And the trigger was the best I've come across even compared to my european target pistols. The aesthetics are interesting compared to what I've seen on other air rifles, e.g. Air Arms, etc. in that it doesn't seem to have the same refined polish, stock excluded. The RAW seems, well raw suggesting the beauty is more than skin deep. The lettering placed on the sides of the body is a bit over done and reminds me of the labels plastered all over the ladders bought today. But that's OK because the rifle simply performs superbly and I sort of like the utilitarian look anyway. The RAW along with the FX Impact that I purchased a couple of weeks earlier are the first air rifles for me and I have a lot to learn. I'm still working on getting a proper scope for the RAW and will post another thread in the optics section about what I learned yesterday about that process. Hope I didn't bore y'all with my observations and thoughts. Don't take much stock in any of it because as stated at the top of this thread I know next to nothing about airguns.

Guy I know Marksman personally and although I'm kind outta pcp rifles I will make this very selfless offer .Looks as though Marksman has screwed you over so here's my offer .. If you were to send me ( your dime of course ) such a gun I would be happy to " inspect " it for a lengthy process that could possibly take years . I know ...I know it's seems to good to be true !!!! But rest assured when you get it back one day it will be WELL broken in !!!
PS a few tins of pellets would be a nice gesture on your part .

Brilliant !!!

When my RAW arrives...... I hope it sprays like a open choke shot gun blast! I don't like being bored. I want to fiddle with every possible reason that the gun doesn't shoot where I aim. Change of POI will give me hours of joy. I will even be able to get my forum post count up asking "Whyyyyy".

Next you will probably complain that the gun doesn't leak like a sieve.

"tinsoldier"The only problem I see is that you didn't bring it out to 100 yds where it shines.
I think that will only draw out my incompetence. But unabashed as I am that is the plan in the next few days. Would sure like to get a better scope beforehand though or understand why it isn't necessary. Still trying to get a handle on the optics end of all this.
