Sometimes it seems like looking for a needle in a haystack, good lite weight

high power scope that is less then $600 .Really it is so hard to figure out the best way to go.
Ok, how about less than $1000,weight under 30 oz and magnification up to around 25x.
I buy a lot of scopes used ,so I save money that way.
I think I will start writing down a list of scopes that qualify.
Must have great glass.
Use is 100yard target shooting .
Please do not wish me good luck as I do not have it.Thank you (y)

Not sure what you consider good glass but the Arken ELP4 has Japanese lenses and weighs ~25oz. I have the 4-16x version and I really like it a lot. Would be great even on a Powder Burner.

@boscoebrea I don’t know how great the glass is, but Vector Continental 5-30x56 FFP is nice enough for me for the money. I have one on my M357 and have used it during the day and at night with lights hunting. Right now they’re on sale for under $500 before taxes, but the FFPs sold out quick. They always do.

I’ve also heard good things about the original Bushnell Match Pro, but I haven’t looked through one. The original focuses down to 10 yards and goes for around $400

I am now considering getting a Hawke Sidewinder or a Frontier if I can get one cheap enough. Hawke scopes are lighter.
@boscoebrea I enjoy the sight picture hunting with my Sidewinder. You may have to wait to catch them on sale. A Frontier will usually cost more. I think there’s one in the Classifieds now if no one has bought it.

Edit: here it is.

I have one on a Taipan Vet 1 and one on a 17 HMR. Really like Arkens, good value for the money.

Maven scope have been getting some discussion here lately.
Check out this one. It hits some of your criteria.

I followed Maven Optics a couple of years ago when I was looking for great binoculars. Their top-tier models are highly rated and get great reviews.
I looked up their rifle scope, and I say this: Wow, you can order what type of retile you want from them, and you can customize the scope to your liking.
Of course, you are going to pay big money. If I had big money, I would differently look into getting a Maven scope.

If you want something affordable that functions as well In every sense as a 1200+, scope. There are 2 options with the weight limit.

They're both Arken.

SH4J and EPL5. They do compare to NF, Favorably.

Hey boscoebrea,

here are 6 SPF and 16 FFP scopes that mostly fulfill your requirements.

Find attached your personal Scope Specs Table.
(I eliminated a bunch of 5-30x scopes as the were beyond your max. 25x.)

Cheers,

Matthias
