Garrett put on a great competition over the weekend. There was a lot of work put into it for sure. As with most competitions this size, the volunteers behind the scenes helped on multiple days. Painting targets, numbering the lanes, setting up targets/strings and a few trim jobs on bushes so those people who like to sit on their a$$ when they shoot can see the targets.
After day 1, multiple people jumped in after a long day of shooting to help paint the targets, roll up the strings (Javelina, deer, field mice) get caught up in them at night. And a once over for trash.
After day 2 and awards, back out went the volunteers to take down the course, clean up the building and straighten everything as how it was found before the match.
A special thanks to Garrett's wife, Cheri, for taking care of all of us with snacks, drinks, setting up the venue inside, imputing scores in the computer and being there the entire time handling all the questions and guiding us all around....It was like hearding cats for sure at times. A "Jack" of all trades she was!
Larry S. for getting there early every morning and running the sight in range. He also handled all the competition chrono work and was a Marshal on the field....You would see him "Spring" into action when a target needed checked. OK "Spring" might be the wrong word, walk with a purpose might be better
There was a lot of laughing, a few 4 letter words on missed targets and a few screams from getting stuck by cactus....
What a GREAT time!!!!!!!!
