Tuning Special tools for our hobby? What do you have?

What types of special tools do we need for our hobby?

Some type of gun vice or holding device to keep things easy to work on.

Seems like the usual Bondhus hex (allen) end is something.

I have aluminum and hard plastic inserts for my vise.

Would something like this soft jaw pliers be of use to prevent marring? would they even work?

Team Associated HSS hex wrench set. They are good but when I need the best, I pull out my MIP/Thorpe hex drivers. Hudy hex drivers are really good also. Leftovers from my R/C Racing days.

Sun Optics spring compressor. Tipton gun rest-the smaller foldable one. More allen wrenches that I can count.

Metric driver for the 4 most common head sizes 

Lense wrench for fixing improperly adjusted front objective lenses. I've used mine to successfully correct 4 scopes. All of which work perfectly now.



caliper and micrometer are indispensable as well



I like the aluminum vice insert. I usually use blocks of wood, but sometimes cant get enough grip with them

Thin bicycle wrenches have really come in handy on occasion. Dental picks. Small table top vise. Quick grips. DREMEL! To name a few.

Yes, I seldom use them. I actually have a lot of tools I don't use as much anymore but I won't get rid of either because many are not tools my neighbors have that I can just borrow and majority of these tools are duplicates of my personal tools from work. I am the type that can always find a tool I don't have and actually need.



Wow, there is a lot f stuff that is rusty. I think all new rust was when the roof was off and somehow moisture got onto my tools.. :-(

- Small needle nose pliers/clippers.

I didn't see a set of number drills. Much smaller increment than fractional bits.

Some guns may need their own special tools such as spanner wrenches.

Never mind the yoga mat, what’s that jig you got set up to mount your impact on? Surprised no one commented on that “tool”. Nice set up. Probably makes it easy working on the impact.

Oh, did someone take a sawzall to your scope? Speaking of tools, lol
