Spotter eye pieces

I think I have made up my mind and will get a Vortex Razor scope.

Does anyone make after market eye pieces? Are some eye pieces interchangeable between brands?

Anyone use a wide angle eye piece? Advantages? Disadvantages?

I had thought about getting a wide angle eye piece. From what I have read conditions need to be just right to use full magnification anyway? Would I be losing that much glassing ability by going from a 20-60 to 25-50 wide angle?

Most eyepiece are brand/model specific, unless you get a body what accept 1.25" astro. eyepiece. Like the Pentax PF-series, Celestron (Regal M2 ED, TrailSeeker, Hummingbird ED, C90, and C5), most TS-Optics and Opticron, Televue and some others I can't think of right now.

No....and to know more go to bird or long range hunting forums,lot more information,better yet call Vortex and use their advice.

I use Pentax myself and as poster above said,many more great mounts available for it.

A Vortex Razor is a high quality scope,,,

I have both the 60mm and 80mm Pentax scopes...the 60mm is a lot smaller and better for packing,yet they Both use the same interchangeable lens.

Most posts I read about wide lens vs.a little more power is like this:Get the wider lens!

My 1.25" combo is a PF80 for shooting/birding, and a Hummingbird 50mm for hiking 



Another thing to consider with shopping for a scope/eyepiece, is the eye relief. Personally, I like eyepiece with lots of eye relief.
