I am not against the idea. Any gun cleaning solvent will simply wipe that right off, though.

I don't usually spray ballistol all over my chassis when I clean the gun. I used this same paint on a .22LR like 8 years ago and its still holding up just fine

No one sprays cleaners all over a rifle. But small drops can ruin a great finish. Aluma Hyde does not cost that much more, so....
