N/A Spring compressed

I'm using a giggle 7 phone but not the app. Look at the post you just made. In between the share button and the post number there's a square with a concave half circle at the bottom. Click on it and just follow the instructions.
I don't have any of that..🤔😳..oh I just found the bookmark 🔖.. thank you..I didn't know what that meant but I just started pushing each button 🤣 hopefully I didn't mess anything else up

Maybe I'm missing something? I don't see the need to decock a rifle. Just fire it off in a safe direction if you need to put the gun away after a fruitless hunt. At home, shoot it into a box of rags or the like. I can decock all of my Weihrauchs except my 97. I have decocked the others when opportunities evaporate but I've never seen it as a problem with my 97. So I waste a pellet. Big deal.

The springs in my powder-burner magazines seem fine after being fully loaded for extended periods of time.
YMMV
When new I couldn't fully load all 4 magazines for my 9mm without a speed loader. I always keep them loaded. They have definitely got softer in the last year because I can load them by hand now. Don't get me wrong they are still tough to load but they are definitely easier to load now. Still work perfectly. As you said YMMV.

Am with you on this one. Don't know how we got to decocking chapter. However, i like the idea of having a pellet sitting in, before even cocking the gun.

I have a small two floored cabin. I keep a loaded and uncocked pellet rifle on each floor near me for pests. I used to leave them cocked but I've forgotten to uncock or fire them off at bedtime. Over the years I've had 2 Hw30 springs and one Hw50 spring go soft because I left them cocked for as little as two days. And by soft meaning they the 30s lost a half pound of energy and the 50 nearly a full pound. Not a terrible loss but enough it bothers me. I've also left one Hw30 cocked for at least a week and it was fine. Go figure.

It seems some brand springs go soft and collapse when their life's over and others are more brittle and stay strong until the day they break. Probably has something to do with the material and heat treatment. I think the one's that go soft at end of life are the ones that cant be left cocked. Perhaps they were near their end of life when left cocked?
