Tuning Spring of hammer of my Bantam Sniper got broken..

Well,

I was shooting and all of a sudden the cocking become very hard and then the shooting speed (fps) became very few.

The spring of the hammer got broken.

¿Is this common?

¿Is there a way to prevent it?

Already came to a spring manufacturer and they will give me two tomorrow at noon. Let's see how they look.

I never had this situation before.

There it goes:

Maybe 1500 shots

I search in Google maps where there was a Spring manufacturer close to my house (8 miles). It was a very small place but they make all size of springs. I brought the broken one with me. They took all measures (Caliber of the wire, internal diameter, external diameter, length, number of cycles, etc.)

The rifle is now shooting back and I am on 805 fps with JSB's 33.95 grains.... (Just made the calculation to foot pounds. I will leave it there.)

The price of each spring: equivalent to $2.25 us dlls. Less than a day to be made and ready to pick up.

The cocking feels much gentle with the new spring.
