Spring Piston vs. Gas Ram: Which is Your Preferred Powerplant?

Can that preload be altered with a pump? For instance the HW90 can be altered. When I remember well the pressure in the strut is about 26 bar.
Does anyone know how much the pressure is in the cocked strut?
Never opended such a gas strut but I was thinking that the gas volume in the cocked strut is a very small fraction of the expanded volume.
As comparison the preload in the HW 80 is about 6 cm and cocked it is 14.5, So force cocked is about 2.5 times preload.
What is the ratio for compressed/expanded in a gas ram? I think it comes down to this question, how does such a gas ram look like? Is it the above or the second scheme? I always thought it's like the first but when it's the below scheme I can understand why the gas ram preload is higher (and why the gas ram can provide higher energy in the same compression chamber.)

FYI: Used HW 90 in .20 caliber on AOA.View attachment 399593
I‘ve been shooting my 90 .20 every chance I get. One favorite for sure. Only thing I’ve done to it, is turn down to 18 bars. I don’t understand how it works it but know it’s very accurate, consistent and a treat to shoot. I have my 90 .25 in line to be shot tomorrow, same deal as the .20. The more I shoot the 90’s the more I crave them.
3 years ago would of been a completely different story. Crow
