The BSC is now hosting two springer-centric disciplines designed for open sights or dot sights. As there is no forum for springer only competitions I will post announcements here until
Michael tells me otherwise. There will be at least one traditional airgun match per month.
This month’s traditional
Airgun competition will be an abbreviated Schutzen FT. We will shoot on the 50yd range and not in the woods this month.
Schutzen 25 is a standing supported style shot at 25yds with a springer. The target is a 25 ring,3/4” bullseye.
Schutzen FT is FT just for springers and open sights!!! Up to 3” kill zones, 10-45 yds, distances given, rangefinders allowed.

8:00 am Gates open
9:00 am 50yd Schutzen - rifle (<35fpe)
11:00 am Airgun Sillhouette -rifle ( Schutzen and traditional)
Schutzen FT lanes will also be setup for open sight or dot sight springer shooters!
Cost is $10 per shooter. Air, C02 carts, water and snacks available.
Saturday July 20th
8:00 am Gates open
9:00 am Field Target ( rifle, aafta styled)
1:00 pm N50 Practice
2:00 pm N50 Match 1
4:00 pm N50 Match 2 ( if contested)
60 shot match over 10 lanes. Field Target cost is $20 per shooter, waived for new shooters and first time visitors. N50 entry with FT entry is only $10. Air, water, snacks, chrony and a club FT rifle are available.
N50 cost is $20 per shooter and includes a sight in target.

The BSC is a private facility open to the public for matches. Established in 1864, we are arguably the oldest continuously operating shooting club in the nation and are listed on the historical register as a Texas landmark. Airguns were introduced to the club in 2014 and are now shot two times a month with the historic Schutzen discipline being revived in 2024 with airguns. Airguns are shot on all four ranges, Field Target, 25, 50 and 100 yds with multiple disciplines contested.
