Springer proof scope

Hawke 4-16x44mm Airmax IR, SF, compact. About 5K shots at 17 FPE on my HW95L with no problems.

I would recommend the Compact, UTG 4-16x44 scope with Glass Etched (fine) Reticle. They used to be $150/$180 on Amazon or Dvor a few years ago, before they changed the scope slightly. Now the updated version is going for $275 -plus I don't like the new reticle !!

I think the Element Helix SFP 6-24x50 is nice at $399 - MRAD is a great reticle.
- However, 24x maybe a little overkill for a Springer.

Hawke only recommends their Vantage line for up to 12 fpe springers. That said I have a Vantage 3-9x40 that I used a long time as a shop mule. It's been on quite a few HW95s and a few R1s without problem. It's even been dropped on the cement floor, and still works. All of these rifles had droop removed if necessary. Droop can kill scopes that might normally lived. Ymmv

I have a Hawke Sidewinder with about 10,000 shots between my Diana 54 and TX 200. No problems. Currently also running a Sightron STac....No problems.
I’m curious about the STAC, can you tell me likes and dislikes about it? I’ve used Sightron in the past and still use a bigsky 4-16X42 and it ranges pretty good for 16X. How does the STAC do with the side focus? Thanks.👊🏻

I have it on my TX200. Shot mostly either 10 or 20 meters indoors but have shot it at 25 and 50 yards outdoors. I paid 385.00 for it last year on a Dvoir closeout sale. I can find no fault. It has 1/4 clicks not 1/8 but for indoors that is fine, longest I shoot indoors is 25 yards. Tiny dot is not great in the field, hard to see. I have a second one in 4x16 on a 22br groundhogs rifle and the tiny dot is easy to loose in certain backgrounds but for tiny x rings on paper I really like it.
