Another favorite plinker. One day I was near a railroad track and started wacking a little water bottle offhand at unknown distance. Stepped it off then and it was 60 yards. The Little HW50 that could. Good gun to take for a walk.

Had an extra rifle target in the garage so hung it up for air gun usage. It makes a great ring. All of these are about 35 yards away from the shooting location.

Spent yesterday afternoon and today installing the bells, using parts over 30 yrs. old.

Just bent the 4 inch flat bar with holes in vice with an over sized adjustable. Some of the holes I covered to make smaller. Installed maybe 30 bells so far. Time consuming, but good tune’s help. I tried out shooting.

They’re not going to last a life time. I’ve hit 1 bell with a 100 rounds, only a few holes. They will take a beating. Awesome to hit something, rather than an empty hole. Happy new year. Crow

I generally try to shoot in mornings to score more natural light. The daylight is shortened about 8 hours from the summer.
Totally hooked on plinking. Today I started with a HW97 .25. I did take another rifle out, a 90, with are a blast to shoot. I couldn’t put that 97 down, talk about selfish.View attachment 414276
I know a lot of members don’t like the looping. I love it, easy to watch. I find it it’s consistency amazing.

That's why long distance shooters like steel plates. When a powder shooter hits a plate at 200-1,000 yards with a .38-55 it makes a loud DING. That's why we called them dingers.

you have a grinder ? you can shorten the bells some to produce different tones ( play a tune ?) yeah ! right !

I would watch you on youtube shooting different rifles into your target range. Like Hickok45 but with different propellant.

Two coats Minwax Antique Oil sanded in. Thank you. I couldn't stand the factory stick.
I have another HW50 that I plan to get a Custom Stock thumb hole for. With a slimmed down forearm. And skip line checkers. No grip cap. Their fat forearm needs a bull barrel to look right but not what I'm after. I want a slimmer sporter look. I keep putting it off. Too busy and I have other projects to iron out anyway
