Springfield Armory 1911 CO2 BB pistol

I just got one of these in, and tried a couple of mags of BBs this morning, It is really a little too cool for CO2 but just could not weight, I did not try on paper, but a soda can starting at about 20 feet, and had it bouncing around good, got it out to about 30 feet before stopping. I did learn a little oil for the follower in the magazine makes it much easier to slide back and load the magazine which is a little awkward, I did order some extra magazines so I can load up several and shoot some rapid fire then change and let the CO2 cart warm up a bit before loading and using it again. This thing functions just like a standard .45 cal 1911 including takedown, at least as far as removing slide and barrel. I did lube the rails and barrel a little also before shooting and it functions perfectly. It is certainly not as accurate as a pellet gun, but for close range fun I don't think it can be beat.

One of these is what started me down the path to spending a lot of money (and fun times) on PCP.

I build, smith and shoot .45acp and 9mm 1911's. they are my passion. I always wished for a way to shoot one at home. Then i found these blowback CO2 pistols. (My first one came to me with PyramydAir catalog with a close up of GORGEOUS oddly angular and at the same time curvy walnut stock that adorns the Kral Puncher Pro. I fixated on that rifle and stock of months,.)

Anyway, I agree, these 1911 bb-guns are great fun and truly do go a long way towards emulating the real thing in feel and handling. Trigger is not too bad either.

jkingrph, yes they are a lot of fun. I have the Umerex "Colt Commander" which I think is the same pistol you have just under a different brand. You did a smart thing by taking it apart and giving it a proper lube. Those guns tend to be dry when they leave the factory.

CyberDynSystems, I also shoot a real 1911 and like you I find that it's nice to be able to shoot a replica of one in the back yard. In addition to being a fun plinker I like to use it to go through my defensive hand gun drills

Yes it was extremely dry when I got it. Trigger not bad. I shot it some more this afternoon. The can I was shooting at was rather bright, and sun reflecting off it almost like a mirror made a good sight picture more difficult. Doing some looking, I think there are several "brands" made by the same company.
