Good Morning AGN members,

I am trying to get a few folks together for an airgun shoot. I had recently got invited to go up and shoot last Monday night at the Springfield Benchrest club in Billings, MO using my FX airgun. There was about 12 guys shooting and it was a very relaxing enjoyable time! Your first time is free and after that its only $6.

Its just fun to see how we stack up against the 22lr guys!

I also have access to a lot of private land we could eventually host our own shoots if we gathered enough people who are interested.

This would just be a fun time to interact with the local Ozarks airgunners! I hope to see some people interested! Thanks!

Great to read that there is some more interest in air gunning in Missouri we have a small bunch that is shooting some benchrest in the Kansas City area and sure am interested in learning more about what you are doing.

We will have a benchrest match May 11 at Ft Osage Gun club we have a springer class and pcp class 25 and 50 yards if interested let me know.

Nice to know there are other people here in the area that are into airguns! I'm a rookie at this, just picked up a Marauder .22 about 10 days ago and am shooting here in my yard. I'm just south of Springfield, and don't have any neighbors that are bothered with my new hobby, and have a great backstop, so I can shoot whenever I want. I can definitely see how this can be addictive, and am already reading all I can about the better guns that are available.

Hey RB, I'll try and make it up to a benchrest competition in your neck of woods sometime soon. That sounds like some fun!

Do you have a link or an email chain that I can join to stay in the loop on the events that are located in your area?

About the best link that we have is on Facebook go to Fort Osage Muzzleloaders, Inc and look around you will find a map, we are trying to get our home page updated but that is a s l o w process for some reason or another. Our next air rifle match is May 11 we usually start around 9:00 more or less and shoot USARB targets at 25 and 50 yards 30 minute relays we are a laid back bunch but are trying to get up to speed just might take a while? We can do a lot more but need people that are interested and willing to help put on a match, about like most clubs.

Here is a list of our air rifle match dates, May 11, June 29, July 20, Aug 17, Sept 14, Oct 19, Nov 23, Dec 28

Hey imyourhuckleberry,

I hear the Marauder is a great PCP to start your addiction off with haha. Just dont shoot any other high end guns because you will want one. I just picked up my FX Impact MKii and wow I dont think I could go back to the airforce talon ss I had before it.

We should get together sometime and shoot. The Benchrest Club over in Billings, MO is a great place to visit. I have a compressor so if you needed air I could provide while we are out there.

Don't even go there! I bought the Marauder just to see if I'd like shooting a pcp, and I'm still in the infancy of trying different pellets, rests, getting the scope sighted in properly, etc. I already know that I'm going to want a better gun/scope combo than this when I get some more experience with it, and am looking at FX, RAW, Daystate primarily. There really isn't much in the $1200-1500 price range that looks good, and it jumps up quickly from there. I don't see any sense in going to an intermediate gun that I won't be satisfied with down the road. I really like that Daystate Redwolf HP...boy is it "purty!" RAW makes some nice guns as well, and FX has several to consider.

Going to Billings to shoot will be fun in a few weeks when I get some time on this gun. I'm using a scuba tank to fill right now, but that thing is no fun at all to drag around. I really like the looks of that Air Venturi Nomad II, and have my name on Airgun Depot's list when they get them in. That looks like the way to go for being able to take it with you somewhere like Billings. They're supposed to get them in around the middle of this month. All this sport takes is time and a lot of money!
