Squirrel #3 thanks to spinner target practice

I got squirrel #3 this morning thanks to some spinner target practice. I bought the spinner target Saturday at our local farm supply store. It's got 1.5" and 3" targets so I figured it would be good for squirrel practice at distance.
What target practice has taught me so far : I can't see like I used to, I like head shots because I make the shot or miss outright, my .22lr and .25 PCP are both good as far as I can see (literally) which is about 40yd without magnifiication, and I need way more targets.
I need 3 more to join her so we can slow cook them with BBQ sauce and bacon and then make pulled squirrel sandwiches.
My side project is a pair of squirrel lined slippers for the wife.

Good job! I like using sets of inexpensive spinners and cans of cheap white spray paint to refresh them. I place them at different yardages to learn my trajectory and make a chart. When it comes time for live targets you got it down.
Thanks, that's my plan! I decided tuna cans hanging from fishing line was not cutting it anymore.
My new property has a good set up for a target range and my local farm supply store has double spinners for $15. I'm going to get (at least) one each time I go.

Be careful about ricochets if you shoot at golf balls. I have one on my "know your limits" target and have had pellets come back at me from 25 yards away. I prefer to just shoot steel targets. I have a life size squirrel that I like for off hand practice at 25 yards. There is a circular cut out for the vitals that falls over when you hit it and then you shoot a slightly larger paddle at the bottom to reset it. Got it from Amazon for about $15.

I just got 2 of those squirrel targets. They work very well. I like them a lot. I have one at 37yds and the second I haven't had a chance to range the distance yet but I'm guessing 45-55yds. I plan to move them around or just buy more of them, lol.
