I appreciate it ! 😉

I saw that it was squirrel appreciation day today and immediately my mind leapt to wanting to shoot a few. I guess the timing is apropos, this Saturday is the last day in California to legally appreciate them!

How'd you cook this bunch? When you have that many is it easier just to make a stew?

I soften' them up in a crock pot for an hour or so, then de-bone and stir fry with veggies and a water/corn starch/soy slurry lol, then serve over rice.

The missus won't touch 'em.

Nice! That sounds good really. I can’t imagine my wife would eat a full bowl, but she’d probably try a spoon or 2.

protected but in Bowling Green , True white Squirrels , not Albino .View attachment 531415

Wow! I didn’t know there was such a thing. White animals are rare in nature. How do these guys avoid becoming hawk food? A few ago in Los Angeles all the white cats started disappearing from yards in the foothills…. The birdies got ‘em.

The fox squirrel I shot was 55 yards. Shooting squirrels with a pellet rifle is much more fun than with a .22 PB!

What part of MI are you from? I grew up in Charlotte.
I'm in Ionia county just a little north west of there! Lots of good state land around here and not that many hunt squirrels anymore. More for me I guess 😉
