Squirrel hunting gun recommendations (sorry)

For me it comes down to the area I need to do a lot of pest control. Too many houses and people everywhere these days. I cant fire up my 243AI to deal with some tree rats. Even a 22lr is too dangerous in most cases for me. There is also the noise issue, I like not having to wear hearing protection and keep the neighbors happy. And the last reason is the cost. Even though I have spent a lot on my pcp setups, price per shot is still alot less than my varmint rigs. Have you bought primers recently lol.
I agree totally with the pest control thing.

Yes I standby this. If you actually needed game to eat would you grab any Airgun?
I’m totally captivated at this time with air. It’s limitations are evident to me .
Yes i would use an air gun . and rabbit or squirrel , my Sheridan .20

The Avenger is great for the money. It definitely needs (IMO) a barrel band(preferably 2, or just a wide one that can lock the tubes in place) in addition to the original.
I am in the same boat as the OP in my search and the Avenger sounds like a fit. Where are the barrel bands found? I have to leave my gun outside for accessibility as needed so I grab and go as you mention. I have really aged a nice steroided '67 Sheridan Blue Streak .20cal for the purpose. I feel bad since it was perfect when I got it 10y ago. Now it needs to be reworked by someone with skills better than mine. I am ready to just jump into a novice PCP instead for keeping on the back patio for eliminating pests.

You have a point but you don’t need air, ohh you don’t need a second shot. I’ve shot one running rabbit when I was about 15 . Browning blr22 . Three fast levers and got him .
Im guess I’m talking real world need. i don’t know of many single shot 22lr‘s someone would use.
