Squirrel hunting

I just picked up a Taipan Vet 2 off the classifieds for a grand. Daystate Revere .22, Daystate Regal .22, Taipan Veteran Gen 1 or 2, Brocock Bantam Sniper .22, FX Crown Gen2 .22, RTI
Prophet Gen 1 or 2 .22, AGT Uragan/Vulcan any Gen .22, Airmaks Krait .22, RAW HM1000x LRT .22, Cricket any Gen .22, Umarex Zelos .22 (the least expensive new around $500). Keep checking the classifieds and AoA used guns, they have a AGT Vulcan for around 900 right now.

Man, I love my family, but if I was single I would have one of everything 😅.
Want to spent about 1000 on a bare gun. And nothe over probably 75 yards
For the money, get a Zelos .22, have it sent to @Firewalker convert it to a bottle version and open up the ports. For around a total of $800 you're have a .22 that can do around 60-65fpe that gets a decent amount of shots and is super accurate. They are accurate right out of the box with .218 ammo slugs, and can make about 45fpe shooting 25gr slugs around 910fps of you up the regulator but being a tube gun your shot count drops dramatically.

I agree with @Ranchibi all those options are great! One thing that most of those have in commen is a fantastic trigger. The Taipan, Daystates, and the crickets have the better triggers over all.

Which reminds me, I actually have a cricket 1 .25 in the classifieds if that peaks your interest, although you need a bit more activity to get into the classifieds.

I'll make my standard recommendation but I'll try and be brief. My P35s in 177, 22, and 25 are all great squirrel killers. Stoeger Bullshark is almost exactly the same gun. They have not been problematic for me and all three are plenty accurate enough for squirrels. For shooting in my yard, I prefer the 177. It is lethal but a pass through or miss won't carry as far.

FX Wildcat MKIII Compact 22 caliber. Super easy handling and very accurate out to the 50ish yard range even in the 500mm compact version. Further shots are doable but if you plan on mostly 75 yard shots the 600-700mm version might be a better option than the 500mm. IMO, its one of the most comfortable shouldering and lightweight carry rifles out there. You can find the bare gun for $1,000 fairly easy and less if you'll be patient. With the option to change liners, ammo choice is wide open to what best suits your application. For squirrels I'd recommend H&N Baracuda Hunter between 900-925fps. Super accurate and the fantastic hollow point lays them down nicely. The BT version is a little more expensive but gives you the bottle option for more shots. I myself see extended hunting sessions and pesting as to very separate things. With pesting, refilling the rifle isn't an issue because I have buddy bottles or electricity on hand for fill sources. With the Wildcat Compact you can expect around 60 regulated shots at the 900 fps range. Just my opinion of course, good luck with your search.

Ive seen a couple around and definitely been thinking about it. From what I've seen there awesome guns. Thanks!

This picture is my preferred set up. Its a 500mm barrel with the 480cc bottle. Tons of shots while still retaining a super compact length. Slap a 3-9x40mm on top and a donnyfl Tanto.....Wham!... its a tack drivin squirrel thumper. I had considered parting with it when I recently got another L2 but am still on the fence.
