Squirrels by day and Racoons by night!

The greys have always raided my pecan trees by day until I found out that the Racoons were up to their dirty work at night. Well, the nuts were raining on my roof at 04:00 this morning and I knew that it was a "masked bandit" so what was I to do but to grab my lil Cricket! I creeped out of the back door, glassed him/it, flashed him/it and squeezed off the shot with a follow-up shot. When he/it hit the ground, it flopped a couple of times and for the sake of my safety, it took another one to the ole brain pan. This one makes the 4th one that I've taken out within the last month or so but this time it was my laser shooting Cricket in .22 caliber.

Pulling double duty, nothing wrong with a follow up or two, or more, for your safety. They have thick skulls and carry rabies. I got bit before. Yes, bit as in it bite me. Not fun. I would have dumped the entire mag in his head and heart.
@JT-outta-call:

When I read the part that said, "I got bit before. Yes, as in it bite me." that made me say "Whoa" and this is one tree climbing animal that I don't trust, even when it's dead.

Those trees need full-time protection obviously.

@Flintsack:

I was awakened by nuts raining down on my roof at 04:00 this morning and I knew what time it was, it was "CRICKET TIME" yeah! Squirrels by light, racoons by night and they only stop when I stop them but their friends, relatives and foes just keep coming!

Aye you are doing a silent community service ventilating those possible rabies carrying trash pandas. :coffee:
@SHOMER:

When I saw this bandit on YouTube and the News attack this child at her front door and her mother (momma bear) took matters into her own hands literally. They're not going to get a free pass here because I've got a disabled wife that I'm looking out for. BTW, I do handle them gloves just in case one may have rabies.

Great shooting on the bandits and nutters! A Cricket taking down bandits and nutters...😂

@Ranchibi:

I do love pecans and at $10.00 per pound shelled, I'll give them all a free pass until the next time, there's always tomorrow! By The Way, the Cricket is a bit beefy as in heavy but it's a real shooter from Hades.

Nice! I can always rely on any of my 3 Crickets. Been a while since I had to deal with a Coon, but when I did, I had the .25 set up and ready. I got an alert from the Arlo camera and the gun was already waiting on me & trained on the corn they were raiding when I got to the patio.

Likewise, that's another trophy that speaks for itself if it were able to talk, it would definitely say, "the right person, the right rifle/caliber' working together always gets the job done.

Do not trust raccoons, I had one "play dead" on me. Scared the poop out of me. Three Knock Slugs to the head is my rule now. Little pissed off bears are tough.
@maxtrouble:

I don't trust them either seeing that they can be carriers of rabies but I've not had one to play dead on me yet and I hope that it never happens. I do know that they're fighters and have been known to kill the best of dogs!
