Ill try that also, I set those decoys up this morning, 1 starling landed withing an hour, then a whole bunch came in. I couldn't resist myself tried shooting one but missed. Damn things move a whole heck of a lot feeding on the ground. Think Ill let them feed unmolested for a week or so if and when they come back.

Nice decoys. They're working really good if you got that fast of a response. I have a couple suet hanging on a fence at 135 yards with one of the small Raven decoys. But I think they have it marked as a "no fly zone" now. I just had two Starlings warned by others that left my suet so fast flying low and evasive. Could have been a Merlin or a hawk of some type out there that they were warning about. I didn't see one anywhere. So now I'll move the suet again.
The feathered decoy looks good but I would cut the tail in half as starlings have shorter tails.
What a fun thread to follow. Nice job on the decoys Brain! Here’s a idea that is kind of morbid I know, but it might work.
Try this.

Brian I've shot those things & left them in the yard for days where they fell , they still fly in & eat right next to their dead brothers & sisters . Do some more cut outs but do the backside of the bird & lay them out like a flock is eating in your yard use a nail thru the corrugated plastic into the ground so the wind doesn't blow them away .Best of luck Darell
