steel backing for target practice

i needed to test some new pellets
and i decided to take some photos
i practice from inside my garage for 25 meters

here is my taget

as you can see the back is piece of 1/8 stainless

here you can see the slot on the bottom board for the backer and the paper target
and the lights for shooting at night attached to the lid :)

when done close the tote and protects everything from the elements :)

Wyshadow: something says the goats are going to love the plastic just as much as the wood. 😂
I REALLY like this idea. I wish I lived in a place where I could get away with leaving a tote out. I live in a HOA and it's hard enough shooting as it is.

What would you say the total weight comes in at? the lights are awesome. I'm going to have to incorporate lights into my setup I have now. With work I only get about 45 mins worth of light to shoot, but if I had lights I could get in a couple hours a night!!!!

Strever:

Nice setup, and very nice area....Love all the plants and overall setting but let me tell you that you are "CHEATING" by blocking the side wind with that pick up!...LOL

Honest to God: I would panic shooting at 8 inches to the left of my 40 K Pick Up and worse, shooting towards the entrance of my garage thinking that I could shoot one of those unannounced neighbors that we all have and who show up with any excuse ! ....

Have a nice shooting weekend...

Dick:

That is beautiful country...I love those rain forests and more when there is a BR table around...Who needs a bed when you can sleep on a Hammock in between a couple of those Redwoods waiting for the sun to come up and start shooting. Are you by Del Norte County?

I envy you at this time of the year...We are getting freezing temps and are not able to shoot outdoors until end of March (NW Montana by Glacier Park)...Fortunately we are heading south on Tuesday and will bring one of my compact guns (Daystate Huntsman XL most likely) and a hand pump (Ugggh!)

Do you guys shoot FT in that area or do you have to go to Oregon?

Regards,

Nice setup Dick!

I too shoot from my garage to a target out on the driveway. Depending on wind, sometimes it is hard to determine whether errant shots are due to odd gusts (coming down the roof, around the house, etc) or issues the gun/pellet.

Ideally test indoors where wind is not a variable, but I don't have this option at 27yd.

Do you find your garage-to-outdoor testing to be straightforward?

Thanks

Kim
when i get serious
i put 3 flags out either at 7AM or now in the winter time 5PM just before dark
when the wind is dead and the flag tails hang unmoving
or sometimes even at night
because most of the time during the daylight hours it is on & off un-predictable windy
which is the only time to practice for learning my flags & wind :)
