Steyr LG 110 High power hunter

The poopty thing is that the Steyr air stripper is mounted on the outer diameter of the barrel, and the fact that a barrel bore can be off center quite a bit.
If that is the case, you're not shooting though the center of the hole in the stripper, and the airflow behind the pellet is not symmetrical anymore.
If the gun shoots fine without stripper, I'd leave it as is, or add a mini silencer like Tom said. (If allowed where you live of course)
Be aware that the already heavy bark of a Steyr will be even louder if you add an air stripper.
But they sure do look cool :)

Kind regards,

Gijs

Sorry I'm a little late with the pictures, I've been a little bussy

I noticed. How do you load pictures on to this forum?

Other forums is just attach the picture and load it up.

Yup no problem. We have heavier targets made for 30 joule and up. If you nick the kill zone you will not knock it over. They are very solid and 1/4" steel.

I also have a Steyr LG 110 FT Connect, in .177 sub 12 foot pound for WFTF shooting.

I'm thinking of selling it, and buy a LG 110 Hunter in sub 12 foot pounds.

Thanks for all the comments

This is NOT a silencer ; in Germany they call it a 'compensator' (air stripper) .... made in Germany... tested with rimfire bullets which apparently get the groupings down...as per 2nd picture onleft - without, and then groupings on the right, with the IROSA compensator

Do not fall for the LDC will do the same as an air stripper. It "could" do the same thing with a LOT more design work and testing but 99% of the LDC units will not achieve less flip.

It may be each rifle would benefit from a slightly different stripper ( if needed) and if using a mass produced unit it needs to be very adjustable , like the above pictures tho I've no experience with that brand.

yea im sure those 12 fpe brittish air guns are hard to control....muzzle flip all over the place.

That said the Lapuas biathlon is my Anschutz favourite ammo. and thats a lot tighter of a grouping. I dont think me buying one and randomly mounting one would net me the same results. Biathlon is a bit louder than normal match ammo and i rather keep my silencer on for it.
