Steyr Steyr LP 10 Not dislodging palettes.

Hello Members,
I recently bought a pre owned Steyr LP 10. The issue I'm having is that when I try to shoot the gun with a palette inside, it does not shoot at all. There is only a muffled PUFFFT sound. If you have had this issue or know what possibly could make it fire again, please share your inputs.
Thank you very much.

Got it, that would have been too easy, right?

The description sounds like valve lock, which means the hammer cannot strike the valve stem hard enough to properly knock open the valve. There are a number of potential causes, among them:
  • regulator seal failure that is causing the valve to see full reservoir pressure
  • foreign object (e.g. pellet) trapped in front of the hammer
  • valve stem failure
  • trigger malfunction
  • hammer spring tension is out of adjustment

Thank you so much. Seems like work out of my current capabilities. I took the valve assembly apart and put it back together, and now even the pufft sound is gone.😂 It's like I'm dry firing it all the time. Something that can give further insight is that when the palette is not loaded and I pull the trigger after cocking there is still a pufft sound. Do you know who can take a look at the pistol for me? Thanks again
