This is something I tried to block off the barrel air ports in my Steyr LP50-RF pistol.
Just letting ya' know - It's got a heck of a bark for a roughly 5 fpe pistol. Not friendly for my backyard.
Doesn't appear to have affected accuracy or general operation and it's been holding up just fine for about a month now.
My pistol shooting is pretty sketchy anyway, so I don't know how to gauge if it affected accuracy or not.
I had a couple of small pieces of brass (?) foil left over from a Red Wolf barrel stiffener kit project and thought...what the heck?
The worst that could happen is that there would be too much air pressure and it would "blow out" the thin brass; but not so far.
The clearance between barrel and shroud is so close that anything thicker wouldn't fit.
Now all you can see from the top of the shroud is 3 small brass colored circles.
I went with the moderator adapter from Trajectron.com (in India or ?).
Fits beautifully and has worked well so far. Took about 5 working days to get it in the mail.
