Steyr Steyr Pro X Version 2024 . looking for an advice

Hey Airgunners,
my name is Martin, I am from Rostock at the baltic sea. In german speaking forums the Steyr ProX is not a big thing. I hope I will get more input from your forum.
Well, I have bought my Steyr just e few weeks ago. It´s a beautiful "toy" I think. The shaft is made of a wonderful piece of walnut and I have a lot of fun with my Luftgewehr.
My setup: Steyr Pro X .177mm, Element Titan 3-18x50 FFP APR-2D MRAD scope, Donny FL Sumo Silencer.
I´d like to get some advices how to make my gun better now. At first: Steyr made a "downgrade" in 2024 that was not told or shown on pictures. The Schaftkappe (...wait a minute...need Google translator... butt plate?!? I hope you´ll understand, but take a look at the pictures and you´ll see) is no longer adjustable. It seems to be glued. No screws, neither from the outside nor the inside of the shaft. I am not happy with it. I really want to change the "butt plate" to a modifyable one. Do you have any ideas?
Regards
Martin

Hi Martin! That is a beautiful rifle, for sure. If you look closely at the buttplate, you will see two small slits in the rubber. There are screws in there. They may be flat or phillips head, but if you stick a screwdriver in there, you should find a screw.

I have the opportunity to visit your country this fall. It’s just an overnight stop in Munich but I plan on eating until I pass out!

Thank you very much. I´d never come up with that idea. I am looking for a nice adjustable plate for "Dreistellungskampf" (I am not sure about the translation. Three-position-shooting maybe)
Great choice of scopes. Consider having someone personalize or carve your stock. Of all the many airguns I have, the ProX is my favorite.

I am by no means any expert on the subject, but in my airgun experience Steyr (at least in the U.S. market) is kind of a boutique brand. (Translate - low volume, specialty brand really catering to a small, niche market of buyers). Being low volume, aftermarket accessory companies don't support Steyr guns much - they make their money on high volume production guns where lots of owners buy lots of accessories.

I don't know whether this is something you are looking for at all, but I do see that some are 3D printing adjustable butt hooks for the Pro-X, which look like this:

Here is one place which shows them on their internet site:

I also see them (maybe the same one?) for sale on eBay.

AGN member NAIAD001 seems to post 3D printed butt hooks for sale regularly in the classifieds. I don't know whether he produces them himself, or just sells ones others produce, but maybe you could contact him directly through an AGN PM? Perhaps he has some ideas on adjustable butt plates for your Pro-X,

Good luck with your new gun. I had a Pro-X for a short time and I saw its potential, but my gun had some issues (I had purchased it used) so it went back to the seller. I now own a Hunting 5 Auto (Scout version), and enjoy it a lot. Steyr makes some beautiful guns, both in appearance and function.
