HW/Weihrauch Stippling a 97K factory stock..

Probably lost a little wood in the process..lol.
Nope just the paint, varnish, crud . Even the little nooks and crannies perfect .

I mean if it did damage kinda loses the restoration part of the job ..lol.

It's not like your blasting a ships rusty hull check woketube on doing wood furniture..

I make/refinish my own gunstocks and will often stipple them with a homemade tool. Wrote up a guest blog for Pyramyd Air on that if you are curious about how I do that...

Cheers!
Nice right up, that was a pleasure to read!

I make my own cabinet scrapers as well. My burnishing tool of choice is an old push rod out of an engine.....Interesting how everyone has their own way of doing things. (y)

P s...

Just discovered baking soda blasting for wood as well . Check that one

Thing is no harsh chemicals.😏
Friend I had growing up, his brother came up with a machine and baking soda type solution that he used to blast paint from aircraft. He made a mint
and was set for life.

Here's a few more pics of the stock before it's finished, for those who were interested in how I got it clean. I radius all sharp corners except the butt. All smooth and rounded instead of sharp and squared.

I never knew it had that dark streak on the left side with the orange stain covering it.

Good old spray tinted dye finish can hide many diferences

I will hold my tongue on rounding off sharp edges and softening the lines or edges.. Get that dye on and post.

Be a few days till it arrives. Wasn't fond of the sharp edges, not on this one anyway. Lets see some more of your dyed stocks while we wait, give me something to shoot for.

You can strip with baking soda really well. Especially down in the checkering. They make little airbrush blasters that do insanely good stripping in tiny places. If you get the media and pressure right it's very aggressive on the finish but hardly touches the wood. You can easily take out any blasting marks with 320 grit with a quick once over.

The soda blasters are cheap (harbor freight) and do a great job at a lot of things from erasing graffiti to headlight lenses. It won't raise the grain on wood at all if your careful.

Eastwood has little airbrush size blasters that can be used with a template for texturing and etching with Silicon or ceramic media too.
