Stoeger Stoeger scout and ranger good or pass?

Just so you know you can switch cocking locations and although the mag is on the right, as long as you don't get the custom printed ones, these don't stick out enough to bother ya. Just passing info along.
As a Lefty I do Not mind the Right-hand cocking lever, I actually prefer it as i can keep my trigger finger on the trigger and cock it it with my right...
The issue with Most bullpup guns aimed at the right-handed market is usually the damn magazine plowing into my face.....

I get it.I try to shoot left handed every once in a while just to test my skills. It's definitely a make or break a situation.

Yeah the issue with the Bullshark for me is 2 fold
1) I am a Lefty, pretty sure the mag will be right in my cheek
2) I am ass deep in bull pup's and Tactical style guns right now.. Looking for a traditional style stocked rifle
bfloyd,

I just recently picked up a Stoeger Bullshark.

1.) As others have noted above, the Bullsharks magazine doesn't hardly stick out either side. It's the same whether you are shooting left or right handed.
2.) I'm with you, except when you get to the longer barreled guns, which I feel the Stoeger Ranger is, and then you put a moderator on it, it takes it out of the handy easy woods walking category.

Matt,

Like bfloyd, I shoot left-handed and also much prefer the cocking lever on the right side where the Stoeger Ranger and Scout has it. That way I can keep my left hand on the grip and keep my eyes (more or less) on the sights, while working the lever to reload with my right hand.... Faster & less movement.

BUT... The Stoeger Scout, Ranger and the Bullshark all appear to have the same safety, which I feel is not the best/quickest for hunting. It is a push button on the trigger guard (like a Ruger 10/22). I don't feel it's an issue for target shooting, but for hunting it's a detriment to snap shooting. As a lefty has to push the safety off with your right hand, not a deal killer for me as I wanted a .177 regardless.

The Umarex Zelos has a lefty friendly safety, it's on the right side just above the grip, and looks like it would be easily flipped off with your left thumb (like an AR ambi-safety). The 'Umarex' Zelos is made by the same company that makes the 'Stoeger' Ranger/Scout, which is Snowpeak.

Jerry

I just ordered a Zelos from Dack Outdoors yesterday. The red banner changes daily it seems, saw $15 off a few days ago and I bought mine when they had free shipping. Also, for whatever reason, they just increased the 25 caliber Zelos price today, I bought one yesterday for the $409 they have the 22 caliber listed at;

Go to a picture of the right side of the grip for a better look at the safety;

I shoot from my left shoulder but I am right handed. The stock capacity magazines for my 3 P35s do not stick into my face at all. I have a larger Carm magazine for my 25 (it's all they offer for the 25) and I cannot stand it. I am quite sensitive to this issue but it is not a problem at all for the P35/Stoeger Bullshark. It's a great gun for left shoulder shooters. But I work the safety with my right hand. It is small and in the trigger guard. It is quiet, however. I keep my trigger finger out of the trigger guard until ready to fire so I click off the safety early as I am shouldering the gun before I have the target in the scope. But it isn't safe to do this unless you have the habit of staying away from the trigger.
