Stolen Rifles - RECOVERED!!!

Glad they have been recovered. I suspect whoever stole them saw them and did not know what to do with them or how to use them. It's been almost 60 years now, when I shot smallbore match in college and nothing looked like those. I have a couple of nice older guns a FWB 24 sporter and FWB300S match rifle. Both are spring air. I suspect if they were stolen the thieves in their ignorance would probably cock and dry fire multiple times thinking that they would be playing with them and probably ruin the guns.or at least require a lot of expensive repairs.

They might hold on to them for a little bit, they are evidence after all, but you will get them back.

Congratulations man, it is great to see you be able to recover your property.

Unless they were actually used in an additional crime the State has ZERO reason to hold them. Think about just stolen autos. If they were required to hold items that were stolen for court where would they put them all? And lots of cases drag out for years. All they need is testimony that the owner did not give permission for the suspect to take said items. If they were recovered in a trunk of a stolen auto, without any fingerprints of the occupants of said vehicle being on them, they have 2 chances of getting a conviction. "Slim" and "None"...................Slim ain't been seen around here recently.

Thanks for sharing the excellent update! Saw your fwb ( and almost cried thinking about it) but those pics stood out so well had I seen it in 5 yrs at a pawn shop -whatever- I would have remembered seeing that one and tried to find you. Much better that they were recovered and you wont have an insurance premium ... to deal with.

May y'all shoot nothing but 10's.

John

It was a heads up for a worst case scenario.

If the driver of the stolen auto is a convicted felon, he would be in constructive posession of a firearm by being in control of the auto. A stolen firearm posessed by a person under disability is a bit more serious than just recovered stolen property. They do tend to pile on the charges at the onset of a case, and then let the perps plead out after dropping the lesser or shaky charges.

Regardless, I hope the same as everyone else for the speedy return of the stolen goods to their rightful owner. It is a shame that we even have to sweat over such things due to some shady skells and their antics.
