Yesterday I was at the Honda shop in Vacaville, CA using their free WI-FI.
I clicked on the AA Classifieds tab to check it the latest adds.

“This site is blocked. Weapons”

Having just bought a new truck and dealing with the whole car dealer experience, I very much understand why they would block weapon related internet activity.

Yep, as an IT guy, many businesses are filtering what they will allow you to see with their internet equipment. Not defending it, but the simple fact is that they pay for the connection, they can filter it any way they want. If you don't like it, go find another WiFi network to use. I have clients that filter for this stuff. That's what I use a VPN for!

If you had to click "OK" on a button that said "you agree to the terms and conditions of usage for this network" then Id bet the things you cant connect to were spelled out there. No, no one every reads that stuff, but if you clicked OK then you are bound by it.

Also if thats a corporate outlet then that decision may have been made at Headquarters.
