Did you finalize the dates on them yet?Is the plural of "Sheridan", "sheridie?
Anyway,I have two Sheridans with some odd markings, and maybe folks could tell me if these were made by the manufacturer, or placed there by some long departed owner. I can't figure out head from tail on these. There is no other marking on either rifle except the Racine stamp. I am kind of trying to figure out the vintage of the guns

The way to do it is by the design changes timing, and you can find a copy of that in Wikipedia under Sheridan airgun history. No I did not.
In the pics that you show, the assembled gun appears to have a screw holding the rear sight to the barrel. If so, that was introduced in May 1956 and discontinued in 61. So that alone narrows you down to those years. No I did not.
It appears to be a '57 or 58, then. No hole on the receiver, so after 56. Slim trigger guard held with screws. In the pics that you show, the assembled gun appears to have a screw holding the rear sight to the barrel. The trigger guard changed in 60, and the lower comb stock in 59.
So now you're between 56 and 59, on the assembled gun.
Only one change left to narrow that one down!
Does it have the hole in the right side of the receiver? That was discontinued late in 1956.

If it doesn't have that hole, it could be a late 56, but more likley a 58, or 59.
