Tuning Stranger Things When Cocking DAR25

I double-chambered, but before I realized it I damaged the 2nd pellets skirt a little when I tried cocking again. Finally, I had to press & gently tap a dowel down the muzzle-nd to get both pellets out. They were the "PB-Free" Diabolo Exact Kings ... This occurred the 1st time I tried them, too. Not ever again! --- Anyway, upon the pellet removal, the gun went thru a period of rough, gravelly, cocking movements, even hanging-up on occasion as the lever was pulled back. I thought I would repeat the range of motion several times, trigger-in, as you would in ''de-cocking'' the rifle. --- Finally, it all appeared to break free, however, now instead of the cocking resistance starting around 1/2 way into the ''pull-back'' it doesn't occur until the very end. The gun still cocks and fires, only with a lot of dead travel and a last short bit of resistance. I'm still shaking my head. This was 2 wks ago. I thought it would heal by itself if left alone.😕

If you have any idea what I did, and/or what I can do, let me know. It's odd that the whole cocking dynamics changed from before.

Sounds like the probe pushed back or bent from the force of banging the pellets out or forcing the side lever closed.

I would check if the probe is ok and where it engages the hammer.

I think you may be right. I didn't see a bend, but it's very hard to tell. What I did do was add a small amount of pressure from the top of the probe, and it cycled properly for about 15-20 reps before going back to the problem. Now, during repeated cocking/de-cocking, it's on-again, off-again.

If being pressed in by the dowel is the problem, I would assume the probe needs to be pulled out.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Anybody???

I've been cocking & uncocking all week, trying to figure out what I can do w/o hurting anything. I did try gently using thin pliers w/soft tissue paper between the pliers & the base of the probe. Using only light pressure to grasp and pull it forward offered no fix. Don't know if I could use more pull pressure w/o hurting something.

Odoyle, the probe appears straight, centered & true. When you write about the probe engages the hammer, do you mean the point, along the length of travel, when the gun becomes "cocked?"
