FX Streamline Regular leaks through vent hole

I'm perplexed. My FX Streamline .25 has been leak free and a tack driver for the six years since I bought it new. My only annoyance with this rifle has been the magazine design. On rare occasions it's failed to fully seat the last pellet then closed behind it so that the probe couldn't be used. The stupid owner (me) impatiently forced the magazine out which bent the tip of the probe beyond repair. Utah Air quickly filled my order for a replacement probe, which I installed without incident. The receiver functioned perfectly with the new probe installed. However, I had removed the barrel and the air cylinder in order to work on the receiver. In hindsight this was a big mistake.

Even though I never touched the factory regulator when I removed the air cylinder, it started to hiss and leak air rapidly out of the vent hole once I reattached the barrel and air cylinder to pressurize it. I have studied the Ernest Rowe Youtube videos on this regulator and subsequently replaced each of the seven o-rings that are part of the FX regulator. I used a caliper to make sure the reassembled regulator was set properly. However upon reassembly and pressurization the regulator still is hissing loudly and rapidly leaking out of the vent hole. I've taken it out and examined every component closely, such as the delrin nipple (no divot) and the proper distance of the shaft and washer stack placement. This is a frustrating experience. Any similar experiences with solutions would be welcomed.

As a postscript, I noticed that even though the regulator worked perfectly before I removed the air tube, the o-rings I replaced had all taken a set and were hardened. Yet the regulator functioned perfectly until I removed the air cylinder. I wish I hadn't. Very frustrating.
