Strictly airguns from powder burners?

I like my .22lr but don't shoot it as much as I'd like. Shotgun has been a couple years since I shot it. Sold my .223 R700 and .17hmr a few years back. Airguns are just too fun and easy and much safer to shoot.
I hear ya, before airguns I used a Tikka T1x .22LR suppressed for pesting and a Tikka T3x .223 for target and groundhogs. But they are now safe queens since ammo rape covid BS.
I will say though, they are very accurate rifles. Also had T3x in 6.5 Creedmoor but sold it.

This is my current dilemma. I have given away several of my pb's to my boys and their sons, but still have a safe full of very nice rifles in every cartridge from .22 rimfire through .416 Rigby. No junk. What I really need to do is sell them and replenish my checking account which I have drained buying PCPs and other associated paraphernalia! :ROFLMAO: My wife would like that too! At my age (70) I get great pleasure of just stepping out my back door, whenever I want, with the PCP of my choice and shooting for a few hours.

Shot PB for 30 years, got pretty good at pistols in my teens. Spent a lot of money on tacticool shooting when I was younger because it was cool with friends. Recently I was thinking about building a PB long range rig but really have no interest in PB at all. Some of the old timers still go to and host PB matches but we enjoy our time with airguns so much more, we can tell tall tales and shoot all day and NOT going to the range.
Thanks for sharing!

I am 34 and can relate to the bank account situation. My safe is very happy though!

Lol nice taste in .22lr love my Tikka very accurate. I used it for longe range squirrel and rabbit but God wiped out the squirrel population with a really late and 100yr blizzard a few years back. So my main uses for it are gone but I still like to shoot it.

My WIN M70 30-06 will always be with me as it was a present from my sons & my favorite rifle next to my HW95L. Took my PB deer which is a beautiful 10 point white tail with my 06 & he is mounted on the living room wall. Been shooting the 30-06 for over 70 years and IMO is the best caliber ever produced. Took a 6x6 bull Elk back in 58 with a Remington pump 30-06. I enjoy plinking with my 95 .22 and find MOA at 25 yards is very difficult for me at 84+.

Really curious to see if anyone has swapped out all their powder burners for airguns? If so, what was the driving force behind it?
I've been more seriously into air guns and even sold off a few powder burners that I no longer use but no way would I ever get rid of all of them. I still do all my hunting with firearms and that means I still practice with them.

Different horses for different courses.

I own one PB handgun, bought for defense. Though for a while I hoped I could enjoy it for other target practice, thankfully, buying an inexpensive air rifle wiped out all thoughts of that! Between the lower noise level (no need to wear ear muffs), no recoil, muchmuchmuch cheaper ammo, convenience and frequency of practicing right on my own property, and lower risk of injury, there’s no contest. I LOVE shooting my lowly air rifle in a way that feels like pure child’s delight.

That said, I am keeping my one PB gun. For its intended purpose, it cannot be replaced by an airgun. And I intend to continue regular practice with it.

The dilemma of the PB for self defense is this: To rely on being able to use it effectively requires practice that sometimes seems like it has no purpose. After all, the goal is to never have to use it in the first place.

Meanwhile, non-defense-related target practice is fun in itself. If the purpose is nothing more than making steel ping or watching disposable things get holed, so be it.
