Have several of @Sturkis field targets, all >20 fpe versions. Ol' Frogger has seen the most action, now over 1000 pellets between me & my stepdaughter. Still all original paint except for the very center of the paddle.
But Maury, I'm a hundred percent sure I'm not the....
In reality, this one gets shot the most because it's the easiest to touch up . Decided to give it a proper repainting today. Stripped with a heat gun & brass putty knife, then semi-polished with a wire wheel on a dremel. Wiped it clean with alcohol, then broke out the green & red rattle cans. As you can see in the photo, good as new.
The mechanisms are smooth as silk on these things. Mike told me that it might get a little too loose after the paint around the three joints wore, & ~1/8 turn on the three corresponding bolts would cure it. After a few hundred resets it got a little finicky about how I pulled the string, so did as he advised- worked a charm, back to resetting with a gentle pull of the string. Stayed that way ever since.
Doubt I'll ever have to replace anything on it but the paint. The springs & hardware are very robust. Have a concrete block I clamp it to sometimes, but most of the time I just set it on the ground & keep it there with u-shaped aluminum stakes- makes it easier to move to whatever yardage I want at the moment.
Bottom line, I consider it to be a great purchase & wouldn't hesitate to recommend buying from Mike.
