Sub $600 dollar gun picture thread

My Akela .177 was $335 new.

I stripped the stock and refinished in Tru-Oil.

Did a lot of testing until I arrived at an “optimized“ hammer spring length of 2.57”

One of these shot strings was 20 consecutive 5-shot groups under a dime at 38 yards… incredible shooter, incredible value.

I had converted mine to a 25 cal and it was damn accurate and doing about 45 fpe. Just too heavy for the design. 11lbs with a scope and bipod is too much for any gun IMO, let alone a pup.

That is great work @EPG !!!!! wow,

@Boostcreep I had an mk2 impact i build for bench and slugs, it weighed 15.8 pounds with bipod and scope hahaha on purpose though. Now that I hunt I am the complete opposite!

Here's another project I'm almost done with. Got the breaker from Beau for $250 and chopped it down front and back, put in a np03 tube and barrel. Still 8.6lbs with Scope and bipod but it shoulders perfect with the weight to the back, no forward tip. Just needs some more shaping and tru oil. 27", quiet as can be. And currently doing 19.5 fpe in 177. Going to swap the 22 barrel and see if i get 30 fpe for a few mags.

Heres a p-rod rifle with a bottle adapter, cf bottle and a Ukrainian made SVD style stock. Stock was received literally days before the shenanigans went down over there. Internals are Hill, barrel is 20” LW, Hill custom shroud and moderator. Can swap with the VSS style stock too. She aint pretty but shes consistent and accurate.

Other pic is the .25 Mrod built for Textreme FT. Originally a .25 base model, swapped the tube and stock with a extra FT stock i had from another build. CF 17cu in bottle, reg 1 is a ninja at 2900psi, 2nd reg is a huma, 165 bar. Cothran valve, Hill hammer, TJ 1:22 barrel, Armada breech, Gen 1 bolt all SS hardware. Two custom barrel bands, Hill long shroud and Buckrail moderator.

Those look like the First Strike carbon bottles? How do you like them? My favorite sub-$600 gun was a 30fpe .22 QB79 masterfully crafted by @nervoustrig

The gun was an absolute laser beam

Love em. I have the 15 and 17 cu in. Super lightweight and the profile is low for builds like these. Being that small they will heat up quick when filling from empty. Only problem I had was finding them, took some waiting.

Flashpup QE Sidelever in .25. Most dislike the sidelever being under your chin but I got used to it, it cycles easier and faster than the bolt version which I also have. Just about 40fpe stock, mine is accurate enough I've picked off woodchucks out to 70 yards with it and your under $600 got me the rifle, Discovery scope, rings, bipod, extra magazines and pellets to boot.

I had one in 22 with some good mods, should've kept it. At least I sold it to a forum member so I know it went to a good home. Was a birthday gift to his daughter which I thought was awesome. Here is the one I had

Both of these were under $600.
Both work well, hold air very well, and will hit the targets when asked.

What's the OAL of that empire xs? Shot count and power level? The breaker pup I've been hacking up is similar in size, I need that forward cocking lever!

.25 Air Venturi bullpup that I got for $339 including shipping. Had the scope already that I got in a "clearance" sale and the whole rig was sub $500. I was surprised at how accurate it was and also the shot count was good for the small tank. I got this for a friend and she has done in a possum and an armadillo with it.
