Hello,

I am looking for a good place on long island to shoot my PCP rifles. I live in West Islip and do not really know of any place to shoot anymore, I use to go out East but everything has got so built up at all my spots I don't know where to go. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Brookhaven shooting center is home to air gun club. Tom & Tom run field target matches there and shoot on the range.

Are there any classes that a thirty or forty ft. lb rifle can be used? and does the range allow higher then twenty ft. lb guns during the week?

you can shoot whatever you want on the range but FT Matches are 20fpe limit

Don't let your lack of a gun for field target stop you from shooting a match. Let them know ahead of time and a loaner can be made available.

The simple answer is YES!!!

All of our Field Target matches, as stated above, are limited to 20 ft. Lbs of energy, and .22 caliber and smaller.

The range is a public range, and is open every day between 9 am to 4 PM, except for Monday and Tuesday, where they are closed. You can shoot there for $12 for the entire day, if you are a member of ESCAA, (Eastern Suffolk Competitive Airgunners Association) you only pay $4 a day, when you show your ESCAA membership card upon check in.

The range is Brookhaven Shooting Range in Ridge, off of route 25.

Sounds like fun! thank you for the info, I will try to make it out there on the 27th. I have a couple of springers that I think shoot under 20ft. Lbs.I will have to check them on the chronograph tomorrow.

Jim,

Good deal, it is worth getting to a match. I shot my very first shoot with a .22 springer at 22fpe. I spoke with the match director ahead of time and he said that was fine for my 1st shoot, also offered to get me a loaner if I preferred. 

Give us a new person perspective/review after you get to shoot with foks.

You are more than welcome to come and shoot what you have. Bring it, and we'll go from there. As stated above, if we know ahead of time, we can bring loaner guns for you to shoot.

Your best course of action is to come to the range on a weekend, and talk to some others that shoot. I'm usually there most weekends with good weather, provided I'm not at a match somewhere. This way, you can get some insight on what to expect when you shoot on the 27th.
