Is adding the super sear a worthwhile addition to this gun or a waste of time? Mostly a paper puncher but occasional squirrel gun for my daughters to use.

The SuperSear is one of the most worthwhile mods you can do to any Crosman/Benjamin they fit. Early Super Sear for an early mod. Found out later I did not have to go through all the extra werq. Just install the sear to a stock system for a much better trigger.

Is there a super sear for the Maximus?
I'd rather get the BEST MATCH GRADE trigger feel possible by buying the Crosman Challenger trigger group direct from Crosman and make a DIY (MANDATORY) Credit/Gift card shim gasket.

Well after all this time I bought and installed the super sear from ebay. I now cant get the gun to cock. It seemed easy enough to install but maybe I'm doing something wrong. Anyone with experience please chime in. I dont want to have wasted money on a mod that doesnt work.

It wont cock no matter what I do. I think the piece is junk and I should've known better. Dont buy super sear from ebay.

I have one installed in a Maximus 22 and do not consider it junk
It's a little light for my touch but works predictably
As part of the installation did you notch the OEM part ( called "link" in Crosman diagrams) as shown in the photo below?

I'll try notching it deeper. It seems like I must be missing something in my assembly as it seems to bind and not quite catch when cocking. I shouldn't have called it junk as others have had great success with it. It's just frustrating since it so simple.

After 3 days of messing with this piece I stand by my claim of junk. It doesnt give a safe or reliable trigger in my experience if you can even get it to cock. Others have had same issue so I know I'm not alone. If anyone of the people that think the piece is good want it send me 15$ and your address and it yours.

It works well when it does.
Mine is the exact opposite, as I have experienced sear drag (hammer does not hit the valve in full force), so I will Dremel the hammer a bit---have not done it yet.
Paired it with a stainless Don Cothran Roller Trigger.
It has no slack nor creep and is very sensitive (I like light single stage triggers) but does pass the bump test.
I also shimmed it to make up for its slimness.

I own the twin blue builds (GTA).
Mine is the exact opposite, as I have experienced sear drag (hammer does not hit the valve in full force), so I will Dremel the hammer a bit---have not done it yet.

I'm on the gta but that inquiry isnt me. I think with loose production tolerance at crosman the sear is a hit or miss product. For me it would sometimes cock if I fiddled with the trigger when cocking but then would fire upon closing the bolt. For me it just isnt working but for someone else it may be gold to them. It worked on my 1377 just fine but not the maximus. I have a discovery and want my maximus to be the pimped out version. Lol. I think I'm going to try and find a marauder trigger and go all in on it.
