N/A Sure glad it wasn’t an FX!

So recently my wife said she heard air hissing during the night. Then when I checked I discovered my AAA evol had dumped all its air. Upon disassembly I discovered it had blown one o-ring out completely and another was starting to extrude, and was about to blow. After ordering the needed parts and reassembling I discovered it was also leaking through the fill port. This gun is less than two years old.

also I am the new owner of a daystate huntsman revere. Not long after I received it I discovered it was “sneezing” air around the transfer port at each shot. Oh well🤔

Now each of these guns I consider top notch quality and I wouldn’t part with them, so I didnt come here to complain. Just to make a point. It happens to the best of them.

I’ve noticed a lot of complaints about Fx guns being low quality and unreliable. Before you think I’m defending them, I agree they need to improve their QC and Im not a fan of their flimsy barrels. (However it happens to other guns too) But Fx guns do offer innovations and the ability to tune, and attain a level of power that makes me an Fx customer despite their weaknesses. Perhaps it’s hard to offer that much innovation and QC together.

Ive started to compete in nrl22 with an Fx dynamic. I don’t believe there is another airgun that is as capable for that purpose as the dynamic/ panthera. Despite that I’ve had issues with it leaking but I still wouldn’t trade it for anything else.

So each brand/gun has its strengths and weaknesses. No need to get emotional and hate on, or idolize a brand. The fact is (I believe) that we live in the golden age of airgunning. Today’s airguns have a tremendous amount of innovation crammed under one hefty price sticker. 😬 Happy airgunning

I'm on my 4th FX gun now (Dreamlite Compact, Wildcat, Panthera, Impact) and none have had a single QC issue. I keep buying them simply because they perform so well. I'm not a fanboy of anything. I'm quite discerning when it comes to spending my hard earned money. Maybe other people are having issues with FX because those people are just bad at airguns?? The type of folk that also manage to break hammers or shovels. I struggle to understand the hate 🤷‍♂️

Same Here. I currently own 5 of them and have literally never had a problem!

Here is a FFS formula I posted a few years ago about my fx impact

My first Impact was bought through AOA and before I purchased it I asked if they had as many problems as you hear and the gentleman's reply was the only problems are caused by user error, so I purchased one. In 4 years of owning it I never had a leak and have since purchased 5 more FX rifles without any leaks and am now the proud owner of the Impact M3. I own a couple other brands of air rifles and don't have any issues with them either. I guess I'm just lucky.

One thing I’d meant to mention in the op is many complain about having to ”fiddle” with fx guns to tune them. I don’t believe that is true. The ones ive bought came with a moderate power tune that would have worked if I were satisfied with a moderate power tune. Just because you can “fiddle“ with them doesn’t mean you have to.

Yes, o-rings fail, and none of the airgun makers make their own o-rings, but they could buy higher quality ones. I would really Really REALLY, like to see o-rings lists supplied with the guns and whose they are using, not who they are ordering from but the manufacturer of the o-ring itself. I don't think that there is near enough scrutiny on this extremely important component.

I hate to laugh at your wish but it's nonsensical to think that knowing the origin of the o-ring will change what you and others have quipped as a quality issue.

Simply put, o-rings are a product of thier use and placed environment. "Rubber" o-rings are nearly identical from one to another but they are often submitted to harsh environments that check and degrade them.

You can get equally dry o-rings from Grainger as you can from AliExpress.

******* The same size o-ring made by BASF in Germany is way higher quality than the same size made in China. Go to Grainger and checkout the o-rings, they have o-rings that cost $125 a piece made for the aerospace industry, you think they get those from Ali-Express? There are most definately different grades of quality o-rings. Why do you think that some sites list that their o-ring are ISO certified, because everyone does it? No, they don't. And you can get o-rings in a lot more than just plain old rubber. I have had o-rings that didn't last installation because they were crap, and some lasted for years.
