Hey guys , Chris at SWFA is thinking HARD about making an airgun version of his SWFA SS scopes . Most likely the 10 & 12 fixed Power scopes . And possibly the 3-15 FFP scope. Here is a reticle I kinda dreamed up that is just basically a Christmas tree version of the MilQuad reticle I like so much . Would you guys like to see a more dedicated airgun reticle ? If so leave a comment and let me know any ideas you have . He’s not looking to redesignl the wheel ....Just add an optional reticle choice for the community. Here is the one I kinda mocked up

I wanted a 3x15 mil quad hollow diamond; but hate FFP.

I like your Horus tree type reticle.

I now find my 2 favorite scope reticle are AMX & fine reticle. I have one SWFA and with Strelok learned it but don’t like fixed high power & this is 16x. Since it’s painted camo I can’t get near what it’s worth so I just keep. Good scope but wasn’t my first pick.

The 1/10 Mil dot is precise in adjustments. Many think AMX or Horus too busy. I love the hollow diamond mills.

I’d like to see a 1x6 with old Weaver target fine reticle. 2ndFP. Add the Hollow Diamonds but thinner.

I prefer the MOA Quad reticle already available. It is nearly the perfect reticle for airgun uses in my opinion, has a floating dot, and is the perfect thickness. If I was nitpicking, I'd erase the top half of the verticle reticle (which I never use) because it just clutters the view through the scope. However, there isn't a reticle that everyone would universally love. My biggest wish would be a SWFA with shorter turrets and more range per revolution, but we are starting to reinvent the wheel.

I'll second that I'd like to see the MOA Quad on the ultralight model, but I guess I don't really see the point in making a dedicated airgun scope. Their current offerings are some of the best airgun scopes already.

I just put the swfa SS 3 - 15x 42 ffp moa quad scope on my EDgun Leshiy. The moa quad reticle is good at higher magnifications where you can distinctly see each tiny tick mark. I think it could be improved by adding windage markers in the holdover section ('Christmas tree') and adding diamonds at every second moa tick to help you count moa's by twos.

The Strelok+ app generates holdover tables for each range expressed in moa and these match up exactly with each tick mark in the moa quad reticle.

The only downside to ffp scopes that I can see so far is generally they are rather large for air guns and you cannot resolve every tick mark at low magnifications. having the diamonds at every second tick mark would help. Variable magnification is helpful as well as focusing down to 5 yards for us air gunners.
