Tac Vector Continental 34mm 5-30x56 for half price really got German glass?

Any one here own Tac Vector brand scopes? What model and power? How do you like it?

On sale at DVOR for $449 regularly $990. 34mm 10 yard focus zero stop Specs shows 28 oz. which seems light for 34mm.

Current prices as of now from Optics Planet $918 and $990 at Amazon.

Life time transferable no questions asked warranty no receipt needed for the Continental and a few other specific Tac Vector models.

Here is a comparison to a Kahles scope. Rather interesting read.

Half off sale price is in line with the Arken brand that seems to be the talk of the town lately. Are the different scope brands possibly related by manufacturer?

Too bad Arken's 25 yard minimum focus and ultra heavy weight and reported quality control issues. Not the same quality from scope to scope with in their batches according to first hand customer as well as Arken dealer review regarding their complaints on you tube and forums. Speaking about the ones that weren't sponsored without affiliate money pay them kick back links. Well including one below that is still a dealer don't recommend buying the brand. In reality the company still new and who knows if they still be around later on to honor their life time warranty. Any old Joe can becone a dealer to put money in their pocket up to $100 a sale with their recent price increase. Just pray you get a good one with in the batch that don't break later on. Or become a dealer to get it for cheapest price if it doesn't work out a lot of pissed off customers can remember you.

People have every right to know what they are getting them selves in to before buying from any new company regardless of the paid affiliate reviews.

Seems like the 4-16x and earlier 4-14x SH4's are the nicer ones compared to the 6-24s.

If there is any place to buy the Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30x56 for significantly less than $850 please let me know before I buy the Tac Vector 34mm Continental.

I have a Tac Vector Sentinel 30mm10x40x50 that I picked as part of a deal on a Royale 500 I got this year this year and while it's not a scope I would have ever bought for myself but I have to say it's very nice especially so for an under $250 scope. I don't know about this model but my guess is it's probably a very nice scope for that price but do you need that much of a scope? For $479 for example you can get a Element Helix 6-24x50 FFP which has so very nice features and a great reputation just something to consider.

I am not sure I feel comfortable with the Element brand after watching Cyclops honest review of the more expensive $799 Titan.

https://youtu.be/eSGzTPkRxZY

Another reviewer stated the Athlon Helos was better. He is a dealer for both Element and Athlon.

The Helix was on sale at DVOR couple times for $299 I missed the sale.

Thet had the Nexus for $999 on sale too recently.

Titan too but didn't pay attention to that sale price since I had no curiosity nor desire to buy it anyway after the not too good reviews. Another you tube video review the windage did not appear to go back to zero perfectly after doing the box test then maxed elevation then windage.

Can buy the Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30x56 for $849 no doubt superior to the Titan and worth the extra cost.

Another reviewer dealer sales person stated the warranty for the Element is not as solid as the Athlon brand you tube Optics Warehouse.

I was in no position to buy the Athlon Cronos 4.5-29x56 when it was on clearance sale for $1000 either.

Still pretty bummed the Ares ETR and Cronus both have 25 yard focus.

If either had 10 yard focus Is be like Pat Mahomes find a way find a way find a way.

I'm super interested.

After a new analysis of what gun/scope I really "need" — this scope made the top of the list.

I just really shouldn't be spending any more money for a while...

Also: Buying scopes before I have guns to put them on tends to trick me: "Now I have a nice scope — so NOW I NEED a nice gun to put it on!!" 🙄

I’m looking for a great scope, under $500 that doesn’t weigh 2+ pounds, or have a minimum focus distance of 25 yards. I shoot loads of rats and even 10 yards is pushing it sometimes. Don’t care about lighted reticles as most of them suck. I like a compact scope, and this one has my attention;

4x16 makes good sense.
But I hesitate. The Element Helix looks good but all the hype and squeaky clean reviews give me pause.

I just don’t know.

Steve,

there are some other options that fulfill your requirements. See the attached Scope Specs Table for short scopes (and 3-12x/ 3-9x).

🔸 Most have:

▪ 10y side parallax

▪ Exposed turrets

▪ Holdoff reticle

▪ Are $200-300, some higher

🔸 The Specs Table also gives you:

▪ Length and weight

▪ Warranty info

▪ Price (Mfctr's and street price)

▪ Reticle/Turrets match (mil/mil or moa/moa) — or mismatch

▪ Max. elevation adjustment

▪ IR or not

🔸 A comment on the Veyron FFP you mentioned: It does not have thick outside posts — which means that when the magnification is low the crosshairs will be hard to see.

The same scope is available as Discovery VT-3 — WITH thick outside posts.

The scope in Joe's video is one I wanted to try because I like the reticle. Can't expect great glass in a scope of this tier but as long as that is understood then okay. Schott glass comes in different grades so the glass in this is likely that of a mid grade. Its probably fine but I do remember YoDoyle mentioning he didn't think much of it. However each of us view/judge glass differently so some might think it fine especially if they are used to the cheap scopes.

I think one could do much worse with a bunch of scopes out there compared to this one, especially at this Dvor price.

As much as I would like to try that scope Warranty is a top priority with me so = Athlon, and well I'm a bit biased so there's that.

I don't know anything about that scope but I know about Vector Optics. They make / made scopes for Bushnell, Millett, and others. This isn't a guess as I used to deal with them when they fist arrived on the US scene as Vector optics. That being said, some of their lower rung scopes aren't the best that I took in stock and others were fantastic.

China have no doubt come a long way by leaps and bounds.

I wish I could comfortably afford the Athlon Ares ETR 4.5-30x56 which is likely the best of the best in Chinese made optics.

Then I wouldn't be nickle and diming a $990 Tac Vector Continental for less than half off retail from DVOR. Crazy thing it's still selling for $799 direct from Aliexpress.

I do have a cheap $200 retail Tac Vector Reaper 6-24x50 that was $135 and it's glass compares to the older model Athlon Argos and turrets are equally as mushy. Actually the Argos was worse.

The new ones are supposed to be night and day better though.

A buddy got 2 Arken SH4s a 4-16 and 6-24 he said either some thing is defective with the 6-24 or its not as good as the 4-16 night and day difference like the glass clarity is not as good in the 6-24 and eye box and sight picture as well noticeably not as good.

I told him wait to send it back I want to check it out first. He is rather bummed about it and wonders if all of the 6-24s are like that. And don't get them wet.

I have a arken 2 sh4 4x14 awesome little n light scope...2 EP 4 6x24x50 awesome scopes no problem at all ..but I read of little problem with the new sh4 6x24x50 .. so I decided on the 4x16 what a great scope...just ordered 2 sh5 let's see how those go... a scope no body talk is the Athlon 10×40×56 .. at 30 power you could se a bees butt at 110y for 177 n .22 a good option..

Thanks for the input and comments.

Fingers crossed 34mm Tac Vector Continental 5-30x56 ordered for less than half price.

Also have a 30mm version of the same Continental scope on order for almost half price $300 unadvertised sale from another vendor. Sells for $486 Optics Planet and $549 on Amazon.

If the 30mm is crap hopefully it is at least clear to 25x to be used as a 5-25x56.

Usually you know you got crappy scopes that lose image quality at the highest magnification setting. If you stuck with it just back the power down until it is clear. And hope you didn't pay too much for it. Especially not at full retail.
