Taipan Veteran #2 inbound

Earlier this week I spoke to Charlie at Georgia Airguns and ordered a .25 compact to keep my .22 long company when I’m not around. I was going to go with the standard size but he wasn’t sure when the color stock I wanted would be available. I was going to eventually purchase a compact so I would have all three sizes anyway so it was an easy decision. I want to put some type of sling on it to make it easier to carry since this will mainly be a hunting gun. Any recommendations on brand and type of sling are appreciated since bullpups this short aren’t very easy to fit for a sling without it looking odd or not being very functional.

congrats theres plenty of beef on the stock for any attachment i see on TAIPANS I G page,, the new stock change will have a UIT rail standard not sure when that will happen CHARLIE put a PIC rail on my standard , that is the way id go a sling stud on the butt and a pic rail on the fore end ya can get a sling stud adapter for the pic rail then you have em all for freehand bipods and tripods pat good luck

I have a Seekins short pic rail on the forend of my Standard, which includes a hole in front for sling attachment. I haven't yet put a stud in the buttstock, but there's plenty of room for one. If I ever use mine with a sling, I'll probably use a standard GI type cotton web sling, it's my favorite for general use. If you need to sling up tight, as in service rifle position shooting (or practicing for such), the M1907 leather sling is hard to beat.

Congratulations Sir!

I only have one Taipan and it sees a lot of action in the field. I crave another but can't imagine NEEDING two. Talk me into it.

I have a .177 Standard tuned to 18 fpe for backyard pesting, plinking, and FT. I want to get a .177 Long to turn into a slug gun pushing 25-30 fpe.

Apply to whichever caliber you have. You need a medium power tune for plinking and a high power tune for hunting.

You'll love the new shorty!

I don’t like spending other people’s money so I won’t try to do that. I honestly didn’t NEED another one myself but it will serve a purpose. I have raccoons, coyotes and foxes that would love to have a chicken dinner courtesy of my pampered breakfast providers and that’s not going to happen on my watch. I have had several opportunities in the late evening to give some varmints a dirt nap, but usually don’t carry one of my air rifles due to the size. This should be small enough to not get in the way and allow me to carry it while walking around my property.

Update - Charlie called me this evening to tell me the Taipan was ready and would be shipping tomorrow. He went over the pellets he tested and how each one did. It preferred the EdGun and F/X over the JSB’s. He has called me at least three times since I spoke to him and placed the order to keep me updated on the progress. So far this has been an extremely pleasant buying experience and I can’t wait to get my new Veteran dialed in.
