Another option is mounting an ARCA plate and using a mini carbon fiber tripod. There's pictures of this type of set up: here

Accu-tac is the best I've used for the bench. If I were hunting, something lighter might be preferred, as the Atlas or even the old Harris.

I've also gone with accu-tac, but I shoot exclusively from the bench. I would go QD version so you can pop it off in seconds to walk with. But there are lighter brands.

Here is my pesting rifle; Taipan Veteran Long in .22 with the Accu-Tac PC4. The bipod is a bit weighty but I really like the functionality that the pan and cant lock completely and that there is also a separate lock lever for each. As a pesting rifle shooting out from a windowsill, I really like that I can traverse the rifle but still have the cant completely locked out.
